Peanut, Another Successful Sporo-Cat Story
31st Mar 2015, by AnimalCare

Every week without fail, I receive a few emails from cat owners asking for help for their sporo-cats. Many often say their vets advise their cat(s) to be euthanised as recovery from sporotrichosis is slim. And many of these cat owners do not understand the disease, much less know that many other sporo-cats have actually recovered from this dreadful disease and are now leading a happy life. So, I reply and share this link: http://myanimalcare.org/2014/04/29/tiger-da y-54/. This link contains my ...

Please also note that postal charges are subject to GST as well.

Thank You Very Much (March 2015 Donors)
31st Mar 2015, by AnimalCare

We thank you very much again for your continuous support of our work. With the implementation of the GST, all humans will be affected in a very significant way, and this definitely passes down to the animals under our care. It is a time for us to be prudent in our spending and to prioritise. The animals’ needs cannot be sidelined as it concerns their health and their very existence. We will do our very best to assist in whatever ways we can to help everyone tide this over. Our donors (incl...

This March vacation, SPCA was visited by its very own youth supporters who learned all about dog and cat behaviour as well as how to care for them. These young animal lovers brought with them their compassion and kindness to show just how generous and community-driven young people can be. Their curiosity and willingness to learn are commendable, and we had tonnes of fun! If you are a student under 17 and interested in coming to the SPCA to join us for one of our School Holiday workshops, please...

Are humans unique in appreciating and caring for other species? Well, certainly not. This monkey here is seen ever so gently comforting and smooching the little puppies. Whether she is treating the pups as her own kids or pets, one thing is for sure – animals do understand and experience care and love, just like us humans. A compelling reason why we should treat intelligent animals as good friends, instead of food. They may not be able to do algebra or like this Facebook post, but their feel...

Its Spine Was Cut . 牠的椎骨被人砍断
30th Mar 2015, by SPCA Ipoh

This afternoon, someone informed us that a poor stray dog was injured by a motorist. We rushed to the reporter's shop and found the dog lying in pools of blood, the cut on its back remarkably deep. With the help of the owner of the shop and a helpful passerby, it was sent to the vet as fast as possible. Unfortunately, the vet concluded that its spine was completely chopped into half. We made the final decision. It will not suffer anymore. We were heartbroken, why would someone do such a thing to...
