How Dogs “smell In Stereo” 25th Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Very informative: http://barkpost.com/dogs-smell-to-se e/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post
Not only do they have 300 million scent receptors compared with our 5 million…
…they can “smell the past” and recreate the whole history accurately.
Dogs are such amazing creatures!
But we already know that, don’t we?

Updates On 25th Mar 2015 25th Mar 2015, by SPCA Seberang Perai
This is the dog at Bukit Dumbar Badminton Arena, spotted with a big maggot wound on his back.
We located the dog last Saturday and though he is not approachable and does not allowed to be touched, we managed to sprinkle some medication powder on him.
Thanks to Mr. Lim for coming over to help out. The wound doesn't look too bad and we hope whoever around the area can help to keep a look out on him and report to us if wound isn't getting any better. On our side, we will try to send volunteer ov...

In our letter, we have expressed our dismay and concerns over how the dogs' wellbeing was compromised in the name of commercial profits.
We once again thank all concerned members of the public for having alerted us to this matter.

More Scenes We’d Like To See 25th Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Cow: Indy has taken my springy bed…
So, the boss decided to make a new springy bed for them. Springy beds start off as tunnels. Then, it gets converted into a springy in time, when titans descend their heavyweight persons on the beds, flattening them.
This new tunnel was slotted under the veggie trays. Pole, our engineer, checked it out…after 3 days and declared it “safe”, by her standards.
You can use it, it won’t collapse. I’ve stamped my approval.
Wh...

Scenes We’d Like To See 25th Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Bunny watching Lady Gaga sing the Sound of Music medley (yes, we are still fans!).
Bunny saying to Ginger: Hello, my dear friend. Will you walk into my parlour?
He he he…*sniggers*, says the Spider to the Fly…
A scene never before seen…in the last 9 years…
Bunny AND Tiger (Titan and non-Titan) sharing from the same bowl?
Is this photoshopped???

LOVE STRUCK IN BOSNIA! 25th Mar 2015, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
LOVE STRUCK IN BOSNIA!
See the New Dog Sanctuary Site....
The funny thing about the strays in Sarajevo is, we have a hard time taking photos of them standing up! They are all so love-struck, so completely docile and eager-to-please, that they fall over when rescuers approach.
We did our best to gather at least a few photos of them on their feet, after all, we have BIG news. After a busy week of sponsoring the rescue of street dogs and helping to sponsor the costs of public protests to stop th...

Updates On 24th Mar 2015 24th Mar 2015, by SPCA Seberang Perai
Found barely alive on a roadside, Mila was rescued just in time. Weighing only 3.6kg, she was emaciated, blind in 1 eye and suffering from fungal infection of the skin. Her face, neck and back were covered with sores. She also has a slightly crooked jaw and several missing teeth. Her back was hunched with front legs bent outwards - this posture is typically seen in dogs that have been confined in tiny cages their entire lives. Such dogs usually have minimal socialization with humans and other do...

Updates On 24th Mar 2015 24th Mar 2015, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
THE INTRODUCED, THE NATIVE AND THE ILLEGAL
For this week, let’s look at 3 species of lizard that can be found at ACRES- either being cared for at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre or living free. These 3 lizards are significant in certain ways.
We often get asked what is wrong with keeping an exotic animal as a pet. One big problem is the fact that animals that have been kept as pets (legally or illegally) often get abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Whilst many of these animals wil...

Cow’s Visit To The Vet’s 24th Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Cow’s eye was getting better after his first visit two Fridays ago. He was able to open the eye until three-quarters full, but two days ago, the eye seemed to have deteriorated again.
So, today, off we went to the vet’s for another check-up.
The vet said Cow’s eye had not improved but it also had not deteriorated as far as he could see.
So, I was given four options:
1. To just let it be and keep monitoring. The vet explained that his principle is to “first do no harm...
