28 MORE ANIMALS TO BE RESCUED FROM WAR IN UKRAINE
Yesterday the FRIEND shelter in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine put out a distress call for help in funding the transportation of many dogs and cats in the warzone area of Stahanov. The animals were left behind when humans fled the area or were killed.

MEET WALNUT!
Walnut, a red-footed tortoise, was rescued last month after being found wandering around Pasir Ris Park. He was in terrible condition, with necrotic wounds on all four legs. A victim of the illegal exotic pet trade, he was probably illegally smuggled into Singapore to be sold as a pet, then abandoned by his owner.

Bike, a young male long-tailed macaque, was rescued on the 6th of February 2015 at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve (Hindhede Bike Trail). He had been hit by a mountain bike. We are really glad that the cats love their new serai pots and have been doing their own “juicing” of the leaves daily.
And the sandpit is put to full use by the boy-cats. It was meant to be their toilet, anyway, since only the girls would use the litter box. So, that’s working well too. After Chinese New Year, we will dig the sandpit and turn it into a proper toilet for the boy-cats. Tabs and Cleo were seen using it too, but not Pole.
