HELP ANIMALS THIS FESTIVE SEASON! MEET GARNET….
This tiny fellow here is Garnet, an African spurred tortoise, native to Africa.
Sadly, he is just one of thousands of tortoises captured from the wild and smuggled around the world to supply the illegal pet trade. Most of them die along to way, and those who survive get sold to buyers who frequently are not be prepared to care for them permanently, as these beautiful creatures can often live much longer than we can.
Garnet was found abandoned...

Happy Chinese New Year! Wishing all our supporters a safe journey as you travel. May the year of the goat bring you and your loved ones an abundance in joy!
Here's a camera trap photo taken of the Serow, known locally as kambing gurun. TIPS FOR HAVING AN OPEN HOUSE FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR
1. When inviting visitors, make sure they know you have a pet. Some people may have allergies and need to take special precautions around pets.
2. Cleaning products such as disinfectants get a lot of use during spring cleaning as we spiff up our homes for visitors. Remember, many of these products can be toxic to your pets.
3. If you have a new pet, prepare a quiet room, away from the commotion with water and food available. It will help shy ...

Gong Xi Fa Cai to all our supporters!

Goats are very sociable, intelligent and curious animals! And, just like a human mother and baby, mother goats and their babies - known as kids - share a very close bond. They are able to recognise each other's call the moment the mother goat has given birth to her baby!
Were you born in the year of the goat? People say that those born in the year of the goat are intelligent, creative, a ...

While everyone is busy with spring cleaning and getting ready to enjoy a happy reunion with family tonight, a severely matted fur dog was found dumped outside our shelter.
The dog is in a miserable condition and it just break our hearts thinking what kind of a life he must have been living to make him become at such today.
We hope that while you are enjoying the joyfulness of this festive season, please do not neglect your pets. They are a part of our family, too.
Blessings for this abandone...

CHINESE NEW YEAR DECORATIONS NEED TO BE KEPT OUT OF REACH
In addition to being a choking and intestinal blockage hazard, shards from broken pieces may injure paws, mouths, or other parts of your pet's body.
FIREWORKS & FIRECRACKERS
Keep your pets indoors during fireworks, preferably with human companionship. Bringing your pets to a fireworks display is never a good idea. When fireworks start, close the curtains so your pet cannot see the flashes. Turn on the TV or put some music to help mask t...

A female turtle will return to the same beach where she hatched in to lay her eggs as an adult. If our sea levels rise due to climate change, our beaches would begin to erode, reducing the nesting areas of turtles.
This Earth Hour, we are highlighting the need to restore our forests to battle climate change. Help us win the fight for earth’s future, fundraise or donate at http://goo.gl/m0fB5U

3 DOGS FROM WAR ZONE NOW WAGGING THEIR TAILS!
The Shelter Kiev SOS helped another trio of dogs from the combat zone. The dogs were quite exhausted and frightened at first, but now they are coming around wonderfully and beginning to wag their tails.
Thanks to all of you who have sent in donations, this very large rescue center has enough funds to pay the bills until June. Without the truly inspiring outpouring of support, the truth is that the animals here would not be able to eat every day....
