SPAY & NEUTER CHALLENGE IS A SMASHING SUCCESS!
Last week, we held a 3-day challenge to raise funds for veterinary care for a large number of dogs who have arrived at the Prnjavor shelter in Bosnia.

PARDUS MEETS LOLA!
This week, Pardus, a rescued leopard tortoise in our care, got to experience life outdoors at our outdoor Sanctuary Area. He had a great time! He immediately started chomping down on grass and was very active.
Pardus had been rescued after he was found abandoned at an HDB stairwell. He was in our quarantine for some time, and while there he didn’t seem to show any interest in his enclosure mates, Amber and Lola.

Two female dogs need homes urgently - mother (first photo) and daughter (the dog on the right in the cage). They seem to be Spitz-mix.
The squatter houses where they are living are going to be demolished soon, and their owners have no choice but to move to a flat where they will not be able to keep the dogs.

In the U.S., the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has recently named animal cruelty as a “top-tier crime”, along with arson, burglary, kidnapping and homicide. When this change takes effect in 2016, prosecution for animal cruelty will be given more priority and more resources, and those convicted of it will face harsher sentencing.
The FBI hopes these changes will weed out animal abusers and help to bring more cases to federal prosecution. You can read more from:

Kayla, who will be celebrating her 5th birthday with a party this year, wanted to use the money that would be spent on goodie bags for her friends, to do some good instead.

"One way to do so is to have a temporary moratorium on culling and to embark on a rigorous evaluation of alternatives.
