26th May 2015, by AnimalCare

Yesterday: https://myanimalcare.org/2015/05/ 24/indy-to-the-rescue-another-heroic-tale-or-is-it / Bunny was attacked while we were out and there was a puncture wound on his arm. With his FIV+ condition, I was rather worried, so I gave him oral Vetri DMG, Transfer Factor and sprayed Path-Away liberally on the wound, every 2 hours yesterday. I was really worried he would develop a fever and an abscess, which had happened many times previously. But take a look at it (this afternoon): I...

WOUND HEALING IN MACAQUES Human wounds tend to gape and generally take a long time to heal. In contrast, strong anecdotal evidence indicates that the wounds of non-human primates heal faster than human wounds. For example, it is said that chimpanzees “heal overnight”, both in captivity and in the wild. The mechanism of this apparent difference is unknown. Scientists have recently recorded animals performing actions that unquestionably look like self-medicating. If wild animals are self-m...

Bravery, the young puppy dumped outside our shelter with a huge open wound and one missing ear has yet to be discharged from the clinic. Other than her physical wound, she was also diagnosed with pneumonia (lung infection) thus the vet would need to monitor until her condition is stable and well enough to undergo her 2nd surgery. Sigh...so young but already she had gone through near death experience. We named her Bravery in hope that she, like her name, will braved through all these hurdles. B...

Dogs Vs Flying Sausages
25th May 2015, by PetFinder.my

Do dogs have a notion of what is "normal" and what is "magic"? Watch Magician Jose Ahonen as he attempts to fool these unsuspecting dogs with... a floating hot dog! Some pups are obviously freaked out. Well, who wouldn't, if they get confronted by an Unidentified Flying Sausage? Then again, some hungry fellas certainly couldn't care less whether the hot dogs are flying or rolling, as long as they get a bite of it! Have a good laugh! =) Source: http://bit.ly/1sSxHCn
