Bravo to Penang for banning shark's fin soup in official functions!
The sharks are lucky because they have the international support of top activists and celebrities, and they don't taste as good as steak and bacon.
However, let's not forget that a shark is merely one out of the thousands of lives sacrificed in an extravagant Chinese-style wedding / feast. Our happiness and celebrations need not be built upon the pain and suffering of other sentient beings.

We're so close to getting the new Bill that NGOs and animal lovers have been lobbying for for almost a decade! The new Animal Welfare Bill will include a fine of RM20K-RM100K and up to three years jail for anyone found guilty of causing physical hurt, neglect or abandonment.

Appeal for Information: 5 Rabbits found (allegedly abandoned) at Bukit Batok Road [SPCA Ref. No.: AH 129138]
On 14 June 2015 (Sunday) at about 4.30pm, 5 rabbits were found allegedly abandoned in a blue carrier near some bushes along Bukit Batok Road, opposite the traffic police speed camera towards the direction of the PIE.
The rabbits were found to be in cramped and filthy conditions, and are currently with another rescue group.
