NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUNDUP: 21 AUGUST 2015
1. (Top left) Honda is a little swift who had an awkward landing, possibly after flying onto something solid. Like bats, swifts are unable to take off from the ground. Honda received some fluids and rest, and all went well with his/her take off that evening!
2. (Right) Eve was home alone! Literally – found stranded in an unoccupied house! Thanks go to the concerned neighbours, who didn’t see any adult civets around and called us for assistanc...

The Sumatran rhino is on the verge of extinction in all of Malaysia. It has gone extinct in Sarawak several decades back; most probably has gone totally extinct in peninsular Malaysia in the past decade; and is more or less extinct in the wild in Sabah.
The three rhinos being kept in captivity in Sabah were captured from the wild between 2007 and 2014, to prevent their total extinction and to breed them in captivity. These are the last three rhinos in captivity in all of Malaysia.

The boy-cats get “outdoor” time every day. Yes, all four of them. The girls aren’t interested to go out, especially Pole and Cleo. Tabs seems no longer interested to go out too, ever since Pole finally accepted her into the fold (by letting her sleep at the penthouse whenever she likes).
Tiger is the safest and easiest to be let out. He doesn’t fight with anyone and he is happy just sitting in the patio.
Bunny is a tricky one. He will try to escape out of the gate, or ...

What's wrong with this picture?
Back in 2011, one of WWF-Malaysia's camera-traps set in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex photographed this three-legged Sun Bear, which was believed to have lost its foot to a snare.
Help us secure emergency funds for monitoring and anti-poaching efforts to prevent this from happening: http://bit.ly/malayansunbear

Please read this: http://www.care2.com/causes/researchers -pull-plastic-straw-out-of-sea-turtles-nose-in-hea rtbreaking-effort-to-help.html
At first, they thought the object in the turtle’s nose was a parasitic worm, but after cutting a piece off and examining it, they realize it’s a plastic straw as one very unimpressed sea turtle is seen sneezing and gasping through the effort.
