Landmark Ruling: Animals Can Legally Be Considered Victims, Just Like Humans
22nd Sep 2015, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

LANDMARK RULING: ANIMALS CAN LEGALLY BE CONSIDERED VICTIMS The Oregon Supreme Court (in the USA) has passed a landmark ruling that will improve the way that animals are protected by law. The ruling ensures that an animal can be seen as a legal "victim" in a case, giving animals more basic rights to protect them from abuse. This is a truly progressive step, acknowledging that animals are sentient beings in their own right rather than "property".

This #WorldRhinoDay we'd like to introduce Malaysia's last Sumatran rhinoceroses. Smallest of the rhinoceros species, the Sumatran rhinoceros has two horns like its African counterpart. They are the last surviving species in the same group as the extinct woolly rhinoceros. They are also one of the world's rarest mammals and are critically endangered. Click on the images to read about them.

The Rabies Situation: Pray For The Animals And The Humans
21st Sep 2015, by AnimalCare

When help and advice offered to those in power falls on deaf ears and cold hearts, when those who can make a difference refuse to learn from others who know better and have done better, perhaps it’s now time to pray for the safety of all animals, to pray for innocent lives who have been needlessly sacrificed due to the ignorance (and sadly, arrogance) of some humans. It’s also time to pray for wisdom and empathy in those humans who can make a difference. It’s time to pray...

As of today, our State's Government still refuse to revoke it's order and the culling continues... Dog catchers were spotted at Raja Uda and Chai Leng Park. In fact, passers-by were very much disturbed by the level of cruelty the State is portraying and many had raised their angers and hatred towards the decision maker(s) on their FB wall. Another protest organized by STOP KILLING START VACCINATING to call for an immediate stop for culling of strays will be held this Wednesday. It is time that...

Curiosity Never Killed The Cat...?
21st Sep 2015, by PetFinder.my

Curiosity Never Killed The Cat...? Anyone who has ever lived with a cat knows that these animals have very little understanding of “boundaries.” If you pour yourself a glass of water and leave it unguarded, you can expect them to come over and dip their paws in just for kicks. Forget trying to air dry your freshly cleaned laundry, because your cat will see the clothing rack as an awesome new jungle gym -- and promptly knock all your damp clothing onto the floor. What can we say? It’s a ca...

Keeping Your Animals Indoors
21st Sep 2015, by AnimalCare

With the rabies alert and the human threats, it’s time to keep our animals indoors. This is the time I’m really glad we built this place for the cats. Initially a few friends remarked that I am curbing their freedom by keeping them confined in spite of the fact that they have a room, a pantry, a garden, sunshine, grass and shelves to play on. But I’m glad we did this for them. Tabs loves serai and it does wonders to her hairball problem. She has two new plants today. Th...

Cow Fights Back?
21st Sep 2015, by AnimalCare

Cleo has been bullying Cow and Tabs for a long time now. She is the food raptor – she steals Tabs’ food all the time (so we have to monitor feeding time or put Tabs on a high place so that she can eat in peace). And she intercepts Cow whenever Cow wants to go out of the room. I think Cow has had enough for her constant bullying so he fought back today. Suddenly, I heard war cries of a different sound, pitch and frequency. I rushed out and saw Cow and Cleo in a locked-body fight with...
