This Sun Bear was discovered caught in a snare in December 2013 in Belum-Temengor. This is the second case in which WWF-Malaysia was involved in rescuing a snared animal near the Gerik-Jeli highway, after a tiger was rescued back in 2010. This shows that poaching is still a threat in the area, which is aided by easy access to the forest via the highway.
Find out how you can help us save the Sun Bear at http://bit.ly/malayansunbear

The Uniformed Heroes of Bogotà
The city of Bogotà, Colombia, is home to an estimated 45,000 street dogs and cats. A government-sponsored organization called the Zoonosis Center of Bogotà has been given the task of carrying out the “surveillance, control and prevention of zoonoses (disease transference)” amongst the city’s homeless animals. While the Center does engage in adoption and sterilization programs, they also operate under a direct government order to kill at least 400 dogs and...

This is our latest most horrendous found!
He was found hiding himself under the table of a temple. The people there smell something terrible and managed to trace the the foul smell to him. They try to lure him out and what they saw next was just too horrifying. His face bones were all exposed and he was limping due to one of his limb already rotten.
The temple people contacted our rescuer and he was immediately sent to the vet clinic. The vet cleaned his wounds and one of his eyeball was remo...

SATURDAY CRIME NIGHT – BIRDS ENTERING YOUR PREMISES? HERE'S HOW SOMEONE TRIED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE
The sight of birds can be exciting and therapeutic to most. But to some, birds are an annoyance. Recently, a member of the public was annoyed with birds who flew into his flat to eat his food. In order to ‘teach the birds a lesson’, he caught one bird and - with a thin string - tied its legs to a pole which he hung outside the window. The highly distressed bird was filmed frantically struggl...
