Jurong Industrial Dogs
15th Mar 2016, by Noah's Ark CARES

We recently had a few batches of dogs being sent to our sanctuary NANAS – as a very last resort. DOG RESCUED FROM DEEP DRAIN Last week, we attended to call informing us of a dog which had fallen into a one metre deep drain at Block 25, Sin Ming Road. Our animal rescue officer, Yao Huang who attended to the rescue, climbed down into the drain and carried the dog out, with help from a passerby. The dog, which was microchipped, was brought back to SPCA, checked and then reunited with its owner. It is important to ensure your pet cat or dog is microchipped because registered microchips give ...

This Florida Jail Doubles Up As An Animal Sanctuary
15th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

The story: http://www.care2.com/causes/this-flori da-jail-doubles-as-an-animal-sanctuary.html Usu ally the word “jail” brings some harsh imagery to mind: barbed wire fences, orange jumpsuits and tall concrete walls. That’s not the case in the Key West, though. Ask a local about the jail, and the most likely image is Mo, an adorable and charismatic sloth who’s become the unofficial mascot of the Stock Island Detention Center, which doubles as a sanctuary...

Vincent Asks For Supper
15th Mar 2016, by AnimalCare

You know how it is that when you’ve been ill and when you’ve recovered, the first sign would be the return of your appetite? I hope this is what’s happening with Vincent now. After eating dinner, he went off and then came back a few hours later to ask for supper! Vincent is eating supper, what about me?  No, Daffodil, you’ve already had breakfast, lunch, tea-time and dinner today, so it’s enough food for you. Eating too much isn’t necessarily good. Vin...

They also spoke with the farmers to get their perspectives on the controversial dog meat and dog fighting tr...

Female turtles lay hundreds of eggs each nesting season. But relatively few young survive into their first year. Crabs, monitor lizards and birds eat the eggs or prey on hatchlings as they make their way out to sea. In the shallows, many more hatchlings are taken by fish. When humans harvest turtle eggs, disturb or degrade nesting beaches, the young turtles’ chances for survival slide further. #Endangered Help save them: http://bit.ly/1QCBDT6
