Military Dog Awarded Highest Medal
A military dog who lost a leg when sniffing out a roadside bomb has been awarded the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross after serving in more than 400 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Lucca, a 12-year-old German shepherd, served in the US marine corps for six years, protecting the lives of troops by sniffing out munitions.

A Rescue Attempt Last Night

Yesterday evening, we received a call from a friend who wanted to rescue a dog in Shah Alam. According to her, she is able to pat and touch the dog, but is unable to carry the dog and put him into a car. The good thing is, this friend’s neighbour has already agreed to adopt the dog. The dog also has a tag and collar and is believed to have been abandoned at an industrial area.
So, we contacted a friend who agreed to help.

Thank you student volunteers from different universities & college , they helped bathe the dogs, cleaned up the shelter, and painted the dog houses.
Thank you for your help at the shelter.
Feeding, washing, Walking with shelter dogs
This year, our shelter demolished more than 14 old and broken cages, and from the materials donation by the public, we buillt 58 concrete kennels. We also welcome volunteers to help paint the new dog houses.

It's hard to believe she almost died in a trash bag.
In South Korea, where dog meat is a delicacy known as gaegogi (although the practice of eating it is less common these days), Chi Chi was one of many born to be consumed.
According to her Facebook page, the 2-year-old yellow Labrador's feet were bound and she was hung upside down — it was believed her meat would become more tender this way. She was stuffed with food to make her gain weight quickly.

Over the last 15 years we have rescued over 9,000 animals, from fragile baby birds to the magnificent green turtles that grace our beaches.
The number of calls to our Wildlife Rescue Hotline increases year by year. We rescued just over 1,000 animals in the year 2011/2012, and an incredible 3,100 in the year 2014/2015.
What will the rest of 2016 bring? And 2017? 2018?

We had a turnout of 10 participants and here's a snapshot of what they were involved in.
