After 12 Hours Of Being Missing, Vincent Returns!! 29th Feb 2016, by AnimalCare
This starts with quite a long story, but I’ll try and make it short.
Vincent has been having a hard time at the patio ever since Zurik gained access here. We all know how hard Vincent tried to prevent Zurik from coming in and…failed. And to Vincent, this is a big blow on his confidence because Vincent is a soldier at heart. His duty is to protect the patio from intruders and Zurik managed to…intrude.
To rub salt to injury, the Bird Family accepts Zurik. And this is despite t...

Saving Elsa 29th Feb 2016, by PetFinder.my
Saving Elsa
It looked like all hope was lost, but this man's noble efforts saved a precious life.
A man stepped onto his porch and came across something awful. Lying motionless under the iron railing was a lifeless cat, and because temperatures were dangerously low, the poor thing was practically frozen.
He feared the worst, but when he saw the kitten's paw move, he knew that there was hope. He quickly wrapped her up and brought her inside. After a while, the brave feline — now fittingly na...

Some Issues On Early Spaying And Neutering 29th Feb 2016, by AnimalCare
Here are three articles, the first written with many references from veterinary research and the second is about a modified technique of spaying while the third is written by “an angry vet”, all of which discusses some disadvantages of the conventional spaying and neutering, particularly if it is done at an early age, before the animal reaches maturity.
Based on the knowledge from vets, all these years, we have often suggested that rescued females be neutered at 4-5 month...

From one of our adoption families:
"My SPCA dogs:
Rock and Charcoal
Both are fine. They are neither caged nor chained only leashed when out on walks most evenings.
Both are never allowed out in their own. My entire front porch & back yard has a roof with ceiling all the way to the gate and both areas have ceiling fans which are switched on in the afternoons. Both areas also very spacious, shady & green as u can see from photos just taken.
So Rock is quite old at 14. The other female black d...

SHELTER'S RESIDENTS 29th Feb 2016, by PAWS
Meet Leela.
Leela was brought into our shelter in October of 2015 by her rescuers. Due to a birth defect, she was born with only one eye. That, however, has not stopped her from being the playful and wonderful cat that she is today!
She is currently 1 year and 5 months old, fully vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, and waiting to be adopted!
If you think Leela is the one for you, feel free to drop by and meet her in person! 😉

There are too many kittens being born and ending up in shelters . Before you even consider breeding your cats, think about this.
At any one time, one male and one female can be responsible for producing four to eight kittens in a litter. Theoretically, in three years, those two cats can be responsible for 20,000 new lives as their off-springs will also grow up and reproduce. There are already so many kittens looking for homes.
You can help the animal we...
