Cow Finally Drinks Water (FLUTD)
31st May 2016, by AnimalCare

I’m so totally freaked out that I spent the whole day watching Cow because I’m so worried about his FLUTD. Even though the vet told me in many cases where there is no blockage, the disease might resolve itself through a change in diet (to Royal Canin’s S/O), I’m still worried. I think it hurts me more looking at him straining to urinate and that only a few drops would come out. But Cow seems to be totally okay about it. He’s taking naps in between. Seems as cool as...

Vincent’s News
31st May 2016, by AnimalCare

Ever since Vincent’s second gum jab, things have not exactly gone as planned. I’m not sure whether that’s good or bad, though. I ordered the Oxyfresh Pet Deodoriser, meant to be dropped into their drinking water… The vet had told me that in some of his gingivitis patients, it helps. I only put a drop into the water bowl. Only a drop and we humans cannot even smell a thing even if you put your nose to the bottle. Guess what Vincent did? He boycotted the water bowl...

Cow Has FLUTD
31st May 2016, by AnimalCare

I freaked out this morning. There were droplets of blood-stained urine in the places where Cow always sprays. Believe it or not, this is one time that I am “glad” Cow sprays, or else I wouldn’t have noticed that he has blood-stained urine. Then, Cow showed me that he was straining to urinate. I observed closely and could only see droplets of urine coming out. He was quite nonchalant about it. But this is Cow and his pain threshold is very high. Super “tahan lasak”...

Soon, turtle eggs will have a safe place to develop should they need protection, with plans being made for Singapore’s first sea turtle hatchery, supported by a $500,000 donation from HSBC Singapore. The facili...

Doggy Goes Daycare
30th May 2016, by PetFinder.my

Doggy Goes Daycare A golden retriever in North Carolina (USA) disappeared from his back yard. Had he been stolen? Nope. He'd let himself out of the yard and headed off to his favourite place, where he politely waited at the door until someone let him in. This is a perfect illustration of the fact that dogs are social creatures! Do you have one dog who spends his or her days at home alone? Doggie daycare is one solution, but adopting a second dog is another. If you'd like to look for a ca...

30th May 2016, by AnimalCare

Oreo wrote to me sometime last week: Dear Dr Chan, It’s me-ngiao. Could Little Nut and I trouble you for a nice patchwork blanket for Great Grandma? She’s recently moved into Grandma’s house after Grand aunt (Grandma’s little sister) went to the rainbow bridge-ngiao last week. Great Grandma’s favourite colour is purple but blue would do as well. And if possible, can it be covered in flowers-ngiao? Great Grandma has been so sad and we want to cheer her up...
