It’s a sad day for science fiction fans everywhere. Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series, has passed away at the age of 60.
Most people know her for her role in Star Wars, but did you know that she's also an animal welfare activist?
According to The New York Times, Fisher suffered a heart attack while on a flight from London to Los Angeles this past Friday and had been hospitalized until her time of death.

We operate a 24-hour emergency rescue service for animals that are sick, injured and in distress.
This year, we attended to almost 2,000 emergency calls ranging from cases involving animals on rooftops, ledges and in trees to animals in drains and canals and animals hit by vehicles.
In executing these rescue operations, our animal rescue officers often face risky situations. However, our dedicated officers do their best to bring the animal to safety.
