Love Is All We Need 1st Jan 2017, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
The year has seen us forge great relationships with local communities which was instrumental in the success and growth of our project. It proves that we simply can’t do without community engagement. Conservation isn’t solely an endeavour by NGOs alone, we need the help of the local community to really make a difference. To put it succinctly, conservation is a task for everyone.

Fireworks Are Scary - Keep Your Pet Safe On New Year's Eve!
Many pets get lost during festive celebrations as they desperately try to escape from the loud noises. Here are some tips on keeping your pets safe and secure during New Year and other festivities;
1. Confine pets safely indoors – pets who are leashed or caged outdoors often manage to escape out of fear from the loud noises.
2. Leave the TV or radio on at normal volume to drown out the noise, and close doors and windows.
3. Of...

2016 - IT’S A WRAP
Dear Supporters
2016 was a big year for the SPCA. In January, we vacated our home at Mount Vernon to usher in a new era of the SPCA in Sungei Tengah. In less than a week, 150 animals were shipped to the countryside in the far west. Our new purpose built animal welfare centre has more space and facilities for our animals, and people too. It has been wonderful seeing our dogs enjoy the large runs, playing and running around with staff and volunteers.
Our Inspectorate has be...

The Last Day Of 2016 31st Dec 2016, by AnimalCare
These last few days have been hectic. I’ve been making several trips to the our mail collection point daily to check for last minute mails for those who want to submit before the 31st Dec cut-off date for our prevailing rates (RM100 per cat and RM150 per dog). Our rates will be revised as of tomorrow.
There were all sorts of problems to settle – Some had sent the photos, but their forms had not arrived. Some had posted the forms but were too busy (or had forgotten) to...

As with any animals, it is best to allow new furbabies to have some time with their mothers before introducing to new homes. That way, these furry friends will adapt better and have time to learn some valuable life lessons first.
Many people come upon litters outdoors and ‘assume’ they have been abandoned when in fact the mom is nearby, probably hunting. Outdoor or stray moms sometimes scatter their babies to avoid predation. If the furbabies are fed well, are in a safe place, and fall asl...

How Now, Cow Mau? 31st Dec 2016, by AnimalCare
Cow’s bruise seems to be healing…what a relief!
The colour is going back to a nice pink and it feels soft to the touch.
The camaraderie of the Royal Guards.
Cow’s appetite is good.
Meanwhile, Tiger still gets into his biting frenzy and will throw a fit, but other than that, he eats very well. I’ve learnt to notice the warning signs of an impending fit. Putting on the e-collar in time can actually prevent a seizure because it stops him from biting.
Could I sugg...
