Madame Daffodil Is Back

I sat out in the porch, waiting patiently for Daffodil to come out from under the car but she refused.
A friend who has vast experience with cats, especially elderly ones, told me that with senior felines (especially females AND calicos), they live life on THEIR terms, not ours.

Stargate2, Part 2 (but It Failed…)

I would have happily written about Stargate2, Part 2 this evening, but I am really feeling very dejected right now, because it has failed to keep Daffodil in.
I don’t know how she escaped, but she did.
Here’s the story…(it was rather funny at the beginning, but it is no longer funny now).
Part 2 consists of the cat-fence installed at 45 degrees, supposed to prevent most cats from getting out.

SPCA staff have counselled the family and cautioned them against leaving the dog out in the sun. We provided alternatives to the family by suggesting that they dry the dog by towelling it after a bath or to invest in a blow dryer.

Indy And Bunny Talk About Mr Zurik

When Mr Zurik comes into the house, it makes a lot of cats upset.
Daffodil gets scared and Vincent is wary of him too.
So far, Mr Zurik has beaten up Cow, Daffodil, Heidi, Tiger and Tabs. He has also had war-cries with Bunny, Vincent (this lasted for a whole year when Vincent was trying to ward him off, and Vincent has since declared a truce with the Russian (poor Vincent conceded defeat) and Indy.
Most of all, it makes Indy and Bunny quite upset because of all the Stargate war-cries.

Toilet-Training The PatioCats

We made a sandpit for the PatioCats but they decided they prefer somewhere else…
Yes, they prefer this place, maybe because it’s more private and hidden by the palms.
It’s Cow checking out the PatioToilet here.
It’s a bit hard to scoop, but it’s okay as long as the cats feel comfortable doing it here.
There is also a litter box in the downstairs toilet and they are learning to use it now.
I guess the sandpit is a bit too exposed for their liking.

Daffodil’s Great Escapades (Spider-Cat Daffi)

Yesterday, Daffodil decided to show me how she makes a great escape even though a chair is put on the tree trunk sink.
She scaled Stargate2.
Yes, Spider-Cat style – she scaled it.
When I came home from work yesterday, I saw her reaching the top effortlessly and thereafter climbing onto the ledge. Then, she strutted along it. Not in a proud or show-offy way, just very nonchalantly, like, “It’s no biggie, really… Easy as pie.”.
