Daffodil Escapes In The Still Of The Night 28th May 2017, by AnimalCare
I was dead tired last night.
We went for a wedding dinner and came back late. I wanted to ensure Daffodil wouldn’t wake me up at 3am again, so I fed her at 1am, before going to bed.
Like clockwork, she came to wake me up many times in the middle of the night. It must have been her usual time at 3-4am again.
I was too tired to get up and asked Daffodil to please sleep.
By 6am, the “second wave” had come up – that would be Ginger and Vincent. Heidi was around too.
It...

SUNNY, SWEATY AND MUDDY, BUT STILL AWESOME
On 25th April 2017, 22 students from St Andrew's Junior College dedicated their energy to help ACRES!
Following an educational talk and a tour, they performed the tasks including some paper work and outdoor maintenance work without complaints despite being under the sun and sweat buckets.
Indeed an awesome bunch and it was a pleasure working with them!
ACRES constantly needs help around our premises. If you got the time, why not pop by our place t...

Keep Our Community Animals Indoors And Safe 27th May 2017, by AnimalCare
Keeping our community animals safe:
1 Keep them safely indoors, as many as you can.
2 Do not keep them in cages in the porch. They have a better chance of escaping when free roaming than being locked in a cage in the porch (where thieves can climb over the gate).
3 Be very careful when rehoming rescued animals. Vet the adopters very, very carefully. If in doubt, do not hand over your animals.
4 If you believe that cats and dogs should never be used as food, that an amend...

Daffi’s Updates 27th May 2017, by AnimalCare
It’s been a zombifying week because Daffodil has been waking me up at about 4am (or today, it was 3.40am) every morning….because she is hungry!!
The first time she did that, I didn’t wake up and she pee-ed on husband’s legs, plus blanket and the bed.
