Adoption Spotlight - Singa 8th Jul 2017, by SPCA Singapore
ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT - SINGA
Meet Singa, a Singapura Special of about five years old.
Singa was found together with his brother, Samson when they were about 2.5 months old. A member of the public found both boys at Jurong West Central, opposite a temple. As the mother of the boys was nowhere in sight for quite a few hours, the lady fearing for the safety of the two boys, sent them to the SPCA instead.
Samson was adopted in September 2012 and Singa has been with us since.
Singa may appear ...

Old and Sick, Furball
You made me what I am today, a dog at its best.
You wanted me to know no fear, a cut above the rest.
Not only did I master that, I've thrown in loyalty too.
Look into my eyes, my soul, you surely knew I would be faithful to you.
I watched your kids grown, I watched your house.
Your praise was my greatest crown.
Asked what you wanted, I did my best.
I would even be your clown.
When I'm old, partially blind and sick, you won't even look at me.
Without a thought, you dialle...

Russian volunteer group ‘United Love Animals’ recently rescued 1,300 dogs and cats from the notorious Yulin dog meat festival in Guangzhou.
The animals were rescued when the truck they were being transported on, in chicken cages often containing five or more cats and dogs, was stopped en route to the festival.
Due to the inhumane conditions, many of the animals had open wounds and died before receiving veterinarian care.
Well done to the Russian team!

Updates On 7th Jul 2017 7th Jul 2017, by SPCA Sarawak

Killing dogs has been scientifically proven to have no effect on rabies transmission or overall population, since new dogs quickly move into the area where killing has taken place to take advantage of the increased food resources and territory. This mixing of new dogs may even increase the risk of rabies due to fighting over territory and mates. By vaccinating at least 70% of a stable population of dogs in the local area, they act as a barrie...

Cubgrub – Homemade BARF For Cats And Dogs! 7th Jul 2017, by AnimalCare
I came across Cubgrub recently. It is homemade BARF for cats (and soon, for dogs too!). The cat food is based on Dr Lisa Pierson’s renowned and trusted recipe! And what’s most important for me, is that it uses antibiotic-residue free chicken.
And it’s a homegrown home business run personally by Ms Chong Lin Li, who is based in Petaling Jaya. She prepares the food herself. Lin Li has a hospitality (commercial cookery) certificate from Queensland, Australia and has worked as a k...
