After problems with the old guttering to the front row of kennels, we decided rather than just replace, to install roof extensions. This gives the dogs more shade and protection from rain and also allows visitors to easily visit the animals when it is raining. The work is now complete. The crowd is growing bigger now! Do stop by Cheras Leisure Mall to participate in Animal Tales Charity Program which is the attempt to set a World Guinness Record for the 'Biggest Mosaic Made of Crayons' with only Rm10 as participation fee. All proceeds will go to SPCA Selangor.

New Law Brings Heavier Punishments For Animal Abusers - Nation | The Star Online

"Dr Quaza said the minimum fine of RM20,000 for abusing animals was even higher than the RM2,000 fine for certain offences such as slapping another person.
Under the law, those who abuse animals will face a fine of between RM20,000 and RM100,000, a maximum jail term of three years, or both.
The penalty is significantly heavier compared to that in the current Animals Act, which punishes animal abusers with a maximum fine of RM50,000, one year in jail, or both."

Today is the 2nd day of the World Record attempt!
Cheras Leisure Mall is hosting an event from the 15th until the 31st July. They are attempting a Guiness World Record for the 'Biggest Mosaic Made of Crayons' and all the proceeds from the charity program will go towards SPCA Selangor. The event is open to public of all ages and the fee to 'colour' the mosaic will only cost RM 10.
SPCA Selangor is also seeking volunteers to help at our booth. Do email mahira.spca@gmail.com for more information...

Zero Trash For 15 Days And Going Forward!

We started practising zero trash on 1st July 2017 and am happy to share that we have been zero-trash for 15 days now!
All organic wastes are composted in our garden.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. (in this order)
All paper, cans, plastic and glass have been sent to the Tzu Chi Recycling centre.
