The SPCA was interviewed last week on Channel News Asia's Singapore Tonight, on the topic of AVA's tighter licensing for pet shops, which came into effect from 1 April 2017.
The SPCA feels that for the new licensing conditions to truly raise the standards of care in pet shops and farms, there will need to be strong and effective enforcement by the authorities, particularly in the areas of the living conditions of these animals and how they are sold.

Finn, a retired police dog who was nearly killed in the line of duty, is making the most of civilian life.
The eight-year-old German Shepherd was seriously stabbed in the head and chest early one October morning in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, by a suspected armed robber.

On the second day of the expedition, the team took off early on another trail at Bukit Labohan. First picture shows the majestic Pokok Balak Balau. A Malayan Sun Bear was spotted via the camera trap. After a three-hour hike, the team finally arrived at the peak of Bukit Labohan. Third picture shows the scenic view from the peak, around 358m above ground. Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow.

On 16 April (Sunday ), an MPV bearing the number plate PER 1222 was spotted dumping this cage with 4 puppies outside our gate.
This is a very irresponsible act. By procedure, the person should fill up the surrender form and pay for the surrender fee if he wants to surrender any animals.
