Dog owners - When a person takes on the ownership of a dog, there should be an immediate acceptance of responsibility for that dog, and for any offspring it may produce, for the duration of its life or until a subsequent owner is found. The owner must ensure that the welfare of the dog, including behavioural needs, are respected and the dog is protected, as far as possible, from infectious disease s (e.g. through vaccination and parasite control) and from unwanted reproduction (e.g. through cont...

Did You Know?. In Malaysia, The Only Organisation .. 22nd Jul 2017, by PAWS
Did you know?
In Malaysia, the only organisation or body which has the authority to take action against cases of animal abuse is the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), also known as Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar.
In line with the recent enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act 2015, the DVS has announced that they will be providing a new method of lodging a report, which is through their WhatsApp (at 019-2242233). This is to supplement their preexisting method of reporting, which is to se...

Adoption Spotlight - Lily 22nd Jul 2017, by SPCA Singapore
ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT - LILY
High-spirited Lily was rescued together with her sibling, Daisy (who has already been adopted) in April 2017, when they were both about three weeks old and found under an overhead bridge at Bukit Batok.
As they were both very young, they were fostered out and the fosterer has nothing but praises for these two girls.

Fancy adopting a sweet little rat? 🐭
Pet photographer Diane Özdamar has been in love with pet rats as long as she can remember.
She's been photographing these furry companions for years, hoping to break their grotesque stereotype with her cute, playful imagery.
Fancy rats, the most common domesticated species of pet rat, are often compared to small dogs by their owners. This is due to their social and cuddly nature.
Highly intelligent, they thrive when living with a friend, so it's sug...

MEMBERS OF PUBLIC STEP IN TO SAVE A BIRD! 21st Jul 2017, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Last week, our wildlife rescue hotline received yet another call about a bird that had gotten stuck on a glue trap. We would never know what exactly happened, but the poor bird was found in a rubbish bin. It was left there, suffering and left to die. Luckily, a kind lady who works in the area noticed the bird and called us. Upon our advise, she gathered her friends to help remove the bird from the rubbish bin first. To our surprise, they went a step further and helped remove the bird from the tr...

"Saving one animal will not change the world, but surely for that one animal, its world will change forever.”
Newborn kittens and puppies are constantly dumped in SPCA. They are dumped without their mothers, therefore leaving them with a low chance of survival as they need constant feeding and care. We need your help to foster them temporarily as we as lack of nursing mom cats/dogs and we as SPCA staffs, are short-handed in caring for all animals at the same time as well.
With your help, y...
