Zurik Comes Back For Lunch; Why Ginger Walks With A Limp 6th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
It didn’t take long for Zurik to come back.
He came back for lunch.
That’s Ginger watching him from Stargate2. The two used to be the very best of friends. Now, not so.
By the way, there was something else which the vet noticed and felt in Ginger today, at the clinic. I told the vet that Ginger had always walked with a slight limp. The vet immediately noticed that his right hind leg and thigh isn’t as developed as the left. This could be due to some injury when he was young o...

Vincent Eats, But….(blood Test Results) 6th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
Right after we brought Vincent and Ginger home, I had to go off for my own doctor’s appointment. I’ve been having this back pain since the end of March and it’s been worsening. It was a very, very long wait at the hospital so by the time we got home, it was about 8pm.
By then, Vincent had been fasting for many hours, so I hoped he would be hungry when we got home. Also, I hoped the subcut fluids had perked him up enough so that he would be motivated to eat something on hi...

The Capsule Failed, Off To The Vet’s Again (Vincent’s Story) 6th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
The capsule failed miserably this morning. Vincent fought it off, spat it out twice and it was a struggle.
It only took him half a day to figure out a winning strategy on the capsule.
Sigh…
He also didn’t want to eat anything this morning.
The most alarming thing was that his weight (taken this morning) was only 2.5kg. That’s a very drastic loss. It wasn’t totally unexpected, though, since he has not been eating well at all.
I texted the vet and he said maybe it’s ...

The Big Ginger-Zurik Fight And Ginger To The Vet 6th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
In the middle of last night, Mr Zurik came into our bedroom through the bathroom window…again.
My husband carried him down and left him at the patio with Ginger. He didn’t want to put Zurik back in the porch because he might just come through the bathroom window again and we would have no sleep all night.
But what happened shortly after that was…a big war cry.
Husband came down to check and found Zurik posturing, Ginger was the clear-cut victim and there were tufts of fur (Gi...

Kepayahan 2. Kalau Di Pasar Atau Kedai Makan, Kita.. 6th Sep 2018, by SCRATCH
Kepayahan 2.
Selebih...

Hooray For Capsules! (about Vincent) 5th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
What a complete ass I’ve been…why hadn’t I thought of using capsules before this?
AND suffered so long in trying so hard to pill Vincent?
Capsules work! They really do. All I have to do is to cut up any tablet into tiny pieces so that the pieces can be stuffed into the capsule.
I think it’s all due to the rounded ends, which makes swallowing so much easier and less painful.
Just now, I made a very brave attempt – I fed Vincent a Bioresis capsule ALL BY MYSELF. With...

No, No, No….no? (Vincent’s Dinner) 5th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
Every meal is a great challenge.
Vincent cannot be force-fed. He hates it. He resents it. He will resist and fight. So, it causes more stress on him.
I’ll attribute it to his “soldiery” pride. He’s a soldier. No soldier will give in a being force-fed.
So, it was about an hour ago that he came down from the staircase landing. This is usually a sign that he might want some food.
I walked into the kitchen and he followed me.
Oh, good, good.
Some food, Vincent?
I offered his ...

Ideas, Ideas, Ideas…for Vincent 5th Sep 2018, by AnimalCare
Today, my friend, Agnes, reminded me about the efficacy of the golden paste (turmeric paste cooked with virgin coconut oil and black pepper) today, or how she cured her rescued cat of mouth ulcers in all but five days when 49 days of antibiotics, laser treatment and steroids didn’t work.
Agnes’ sharing in 2017: https://myanimalcare.org/2017/05/21/a-s haring-on-the-golden-paste-turmeric-paste/
But my first obstacle was: How on earth can I possibly feed it to Vincent? Vincent, who...
