Vincent weighed 3.1kg this morning, without breakfast!
Slowly, bit by bit, we are getting there!
One military veteran (the human) and the feline veteran soldier!
Look at Vincent’s eyes!
Pilling went without a hitch today. Vincent was so good!
9.19am – another snack of Cindy’s Tender Chicken.
Subcut at 10.52am.
Vincent was a bit fidgety. So, I played Ray Conniff’s music to while the time away for both of us. Today, it’s only 200ml of fluids.

KUCHING: Rabies has spread to Sibu, Miri and Kapit divisions, making the total number of rabies localities to 41 thus far.
This was affirmed by the State Disaster Management Committee yesterday when it declared five new areas – Jalan Teng Chin Hua in Sibu; Jalan Kilang (Bintangor) Meradong (Sarikei); Jalan Airport Lama (Kapit); Piasau Jaya (Miri) and Lutong Shell (Miri) – as rabies-infected.

I woke up at 4.30am this morning and Vincent came to greet me at the bedroom door. He was so happy, he trotted down the stairs to me. It’s such a joy watching him active and happy.
I guess he hasn’t felt this well for a long time. Cats perceive time at a rate of 4 times slower than us, so 2 months would feel like 8 months to them. And 2 months is only the time we started treatment. Vincent hadn’t exactly been well even before that; I didn’t know it was his kidneys failing...

My DIY Homecooked Catfood

Besides purchasing Cubgrub’s cat barf, I also make our own homecooked catfood. Once in a while, the cats like a change so they eat homecooked as well as canned food. Kibble is the last resort, only as snacks or when I am not at home.
This is just a sharing and my recipe is far from perfect. Please consult a qualified pet nutritionist if you’d like to cook for your cats or dogs. Cats’ and dogs’ nutritional requirements are different.

I ordered four different proteins from Cubgrub so that Vincent and all the cats would have “protein rotation” in their diet.
Also, for CKD cats, the recommended protein is rabbit and poulty.

Vincent’s Meals And Subcut

After today’s “play-time”, I went to work and came home to have Vincent greeting me at the door. And this time, he did not try to escape.
Lunch at 11.50am – chunky raw meat and Cubgrub.
A second lunch with Ginger at 1pm.
Subcut at 3.44pm.
We are still using the green needle, so 220ml would take quite sometime.
Halfway through, at around 100ml only, the needle came off – oops!! So, we had to re-do on the other side with a fresh needle.
