The Devastating Environmental Impact Of Human Prog..
23rd Oct 2018, by Roots & Shoots Malaysia

"For Burtynsky, defining the Anthropocene is a matter of urgency. Once formalised, he believes it will act as a body of evidence that policymakers can use to promote and enact changes that could slow or reverse climate change. He worries that we might be nearing the point of no return. “The question isn’t whether the planet will continue on,” he says. “We still have the Sun and a heated Earth core and some DNA that can restructure itself. Life on some level will continue on with or witho...

And they are home to around 40% of the world’s species. Over the last 20 years, WWF has helped to protect 377 wetlands across 52 countries under The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands - amounting to 110 million hectares. An Update On The Two Rescued Puppies
23rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

The two puppies from yesterday’s rescue are doing well. According to Mun Mun, they are eating and drinking well. Just a bit timid. That is, of course, to be expected, since they are, after all, feral puppies. Here is a photo from Mun Mun: I also learnt a lot from Mun Mun and the rescue experience yesterday. There is a big difference between the rescue of feral animals and abandoned (former) pets. When I picked up Yoshee from the Al-Rajhi Bank way back in 2012, it was so, so easy. I merely...

Vincent’s Day
23rd Oct 2018, by AnimalCare

Sharing is caring. (Ginger is greedy) Vincent has been eating Cindy’s canned food and homecooked food, mostly. I try to sneak in some raw food (Cubgrub) every now and then, but he would only eat a little bit. He doesn’t seem to like raw anymore. Vincent has been eating, but not as voraciously as before. However, he eats very often. I can see that despite the subcut, he is still a little bit dehydrated. There’s nothing much we can do about this. It’s a typical symptom of...

Cliff Is A Smart Boy. Dogs Are Trainable, But Have..
22nd Oct 2018, by SPCA Singapore

CLIFF IS A SMART BOY Dogs are trainable, but have you ever wondered how dogs learn? Dogs learn in two ways: by association (emotional response) and by consequence (doing things). This works in a negative way too, such as prolonged hitting of the dog with rolled-up newspaper or stick-like items which might correlate with fear. Consequential learning is when the dog is rewarded...
