Taking Time To Listen To The Birds With Vincent 3rd Mar 2019, by AnimalCare
In the mornings, especially on weekends, we get a lot of birds in our area and their happy chirping fills the air.
I took Vincent out to the patio to listen to the birds.
My modified e-collar is working well. The drool on the plastic can be easily wiped off.
Tabs says hello to Vincent.
In fact, Tabs had been peeking in when I feed Vincent. She must be wondering what is going on.
Vincent wanted to go to the soil and I found out why – he wants to eat soil.
It’s the anaemia, I know. ...

Vincent’s Modified E-Collar 3rd Mar 2019, by AnimalCare
I modified Vincent’s soft e-collar, for his needs.
I sewed a piece of soft plastic on the area under the chin so that I can wipe off his drool without wetting the e-collar.
It works.
Meanwhile, Vincent is using the towel to urinate on.
The soft e-collar serves as a convenient pillow/cushion for him to sleep on.

World Wildlife Day 2019 - Life Below Water: For People And Planet 3rd Mar 2019, by WWF Malaysia
Happy World Wildlife Day! Celebrate the day by setting up a goal, live our daily life with minimal negative impacts on wildlife and their habitats. No demand, no hunting! For a start, say no to any wildlife product like #sharkfin, #turtleegg, #hornbillcasque, #pangolinscale, any #wildlifemeat etc.
Other than that, reduce single-use plastics and avoid throwing your rubbish into either rivers or seas. This would greatly help to reduce the impact to wildlife under water!
Some marine animals may...

Vincent’s Breakfast 3rd Mar 2019, by AnimalCare
I could barely sleep all night. I think I woke up every 15 mins. However, I decided not to come downstairs to check on Vincent because a cat’s sense of smell and hearing is so much sharper than ours, it will only wake him up and disturb his rest.
I finally got up at 4.30am and came downstairs. Vincent was up and sitting.
So relieved!
He had also defecated (a well-formed stool, darkish in colour) and urinated on the tshirt. Also urinated in his vertical litter box. It’s good tha...

Vincent’s Tube Feeding And Subcut For The Night 2nd Mar 2019, by AnimalCare
Since all the medicines were given at the vet’s before we left, I only have to do the tube feeding and 200ml subcut tonight.
Vincent was clearly so happy to be home. After settling him in his downstairs bathroom (which is is current chosen “nest”), I went upstairs to take a bath. When I came down, Vincent was already on his way up to meet me.
Awww… He wanted to greet me when I came out of the bathroom.
Just an hour ago, at the clinic, his eyes were sunken and totally li...

Blanket No 211 (fundraising!) 2nd Mar 2019, by AnimalCare
In between, I managed to finish another blanket! This one was ordered by Ms Sharon Ooi for her mother and Ms Ooi has already banked in her kind donation of RM500 into our Fund!
Thank you so much, Ms Ooi!
Here is the finished blanket:
It’s made from 9 different blue fabric of squares and rectangles. It’s called the “disappearing 9 patch” and it’s one of my favourite designs (because I love squares!).
All our blankets measure approximately 60 in by 72 in (the Asian s...

Vincent Is Home Again 2nd Mar 2019, by AnimalCare
This morning, I waited by my phone. I know if I get a call from the clinic around 9.30am, it cannot be any good news.
Vincent looked pretty bad last night.
By 10am, there was no call, so that’s good. I drove to the clinic.
Upon my arrival, the vet said Vincent is still very lethargic and does not seem to respond to whatever that has been done. We know this is the last stage and we have done our best for him.
I went to see Vincent and yes, he looked VERY, very, very tired and miserabl...

World Wildlife Day 2019 2nd Mar 2019, by WWF Malaysia
Eight million tonnes of plastic are leaking into our oceans every year.
It is a sad truth that many species of marine wildlife mistake plastic for food. An estimated 90% of seabirds and 50% of marine turtles have plastic in their stomachs.
Join us on World Wildlife Day as we call for a global agreement to stop marine plastic pollution.
