Timeline Photos 11th Dec 2018, by WWF Malaysia
Some of our colleagues had a "crappy" encounter recently in #SetiuWetlands, a state park in #Terengganu.
.
Can you help them identify which wild animal has left these droppings and what it ate?
.
FYI field researchers look at animal faeces, such as tiger scat and elephant dung to estimate their population in the wild, to find out what they like to eat and many more. It's a sh*tty job, but someone's got to do it 😉

So Far, So Good (Vincent’s Day) 11th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Since I was up so early, I took the opportunity to drive to PJ for a session of Stretch Therapy. Haven’t been for a few weeks now. The limbs and muscles do need to be stretched!
When I came home, Vincent asked for food. Thankfully, there was no vomit anywhere except for some bile in his hide-away.
I steamed fish for him, but he would only eat after a placed some renal kibble onto the food. Good that he can eat!

It’s #TaxaTuesday again! We are at the 7th Genus found in Malaysia, Orlitia, also a monotypic genus with only 1 species (O. borneensis).
O. borneensis, also known as Malaysian Giant Terrapin, is an endangered species listed under the IUCN Red List. Their population is declining due to the illegal international trade for their meat.
The Malaysian Giant Terrapin is the largest freshwater turtle in Southeast Asia. The carapace is flat with smooth edges in adults; however, the carapace is doome...

Just Six Little Granules, Vincent… 11th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
Vincent vomited some liquid slightly after midnight. I was so exhausted yesterday, I slept “early” (earlier than usual, that is).
Vincent did come to wake me up before he vomited, though.
I could not really go back to sleep after that as I was thinking about somehow giving Vincent those 6 little granules of antacid, which might help with the gastritis, if indeed it is gastritis that is causing the vomiting.
Again, we suspect his kidney disease has deteriorated to cause uremia, which ...

Vincent’s Lunch Onwards 10th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare
In unison: We are waiting for lunch.
I had just returned from the supermarket with fresh sardines and found that Vincent had vomited again…sigh. So, a thought occurred to me, what if the sardines are causing him to vomit?
So, I decided to give him canned food instead. Vincent has not eaten canned food for a long time, at least 3 weeks or so. He was unwilling to eat it, anyway.
But let’s try….
Vincent’s favourite: Cindy’s Tender Chicken – CHECKED! Yes...

Lilly' Was So Much Calmer For Her Health Check Up .. 10th Dec 2018, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
'Lilly' was so much calmer for her health check up and vaccination booster. We did supply her mom with Gabapentin suspension to give her prior to this consultation and it worked brilliantly. She's gorgeous and was very friendly today. We still couldn't conduct a thorough eye and mouth examination. Important to pick your battles with your 'special needs' patients and not to overwhelm them in one session. Trust us earnt and I'm currently in Lilly's good books, hurray!!! 😽😽😽 #specialvetpat...

How Big Can You Grow?. Terrapins Are Commonly Seen.. 10th Dec 2018, by SPCA Singapore
HOW BIG CAN YOU GROW?
Terrapins are commonly seen and kept as pets in Singapore. Due to their initial tiny stature and low cost, they are often bought on impulse. However, not many know that they can grow up to 12 inches, which is a size of a dinner plate.
Terrapins have a long lifespan of 20 to 50 years, which makes taking care of them is a long-term commitment. We constantly share that pet is a lifetime commitment, so do think twice before getting one.
