The house feels so empty without Vincent.
I took a nap yesterday afternoon and when I woke up, instinctively, I thought of feeding Vincent. Is Vincent hungry, would he like some food? Then, I realised he was gone.
Also, instinctively, I woke up at 3am today, as I had been doing for the past few months now. Every day at 3am, I lay in bed, hoping Vincent would still be alright when I came downstairs.

Saying Farewell To Vincent

I am comforted that Vincent’s passing was a very peaceful one and that it happened at home. He even came back to the bathroom and slept right in front of the entrance. It was like he had a choice to be exactly where he wanted to be.
I have always believed, in my limited experience, that animals choose the time of their passing. When it is time, they will let go.
No 50-50 surgery. No dilemma for me. Vincent decided it was time to go.

Vincent passed away very peacefully early this morning.
This morning was the only morning, for quite some time now, that I come downstairs without fear of what I might find, but with hope. Hope of a successful surgery today, so that Vincent may be free from the toothache. I spoke with the vet about the tooth extraction. To cut a long story short, we are going for it tomorrow.
Initially the vet didn’t think it should be done because the reality is that Vincent doesn’t have much time left. But to me, it doesn’t matter how much time he has left, I don’t want him to be in pain for the rest of his (however short) time.

Thank you for all the well wishes for our member in charge of trapping who contracted dengue fever about two weeks ago. A few days after we announced the unfortunate news, his condition worsen, he was admitted to ICU ward for two days as it has become critical.
