Guess who did a bit of travelling in the past few weeks?
This river terrapin was hatched in 2019. It was raised by Pakcik Wazel in Kg. Pasir Gajah, and was recently released during our terrapin release event on 15th August 2020.
On 5th September, it was caught by Mr. Soon, a local Kemaman resident in Kg. Pengkalan Pandan, Chukai. This feisty little one travelled approximately 25 km downstream in 3 weeks! How remarkable!

We weren’t sure how long he got himself into the cone ( lampshade ). We thought it was funny, so we took a short video of it. No worries, he is fine. Yesterday afternoon, after releasing two dogs fed by Mr Wong in Sri Kembangan, we went back to Jalan Loke Yew to catch another two female dogs fed by Siew Fong.
