⚠Upsetting images ⚠
Ekans’ story is heartbreaking 💔.
At just a few years old, she was suddenly abandoned and left to face the dangers of life on the streets by herself. She must have been so frigthened and confused.
We don't know what traumatic ordeal she experienced that caused this terrible wound, but we are grateful that an animal lover like yourself rescued her.
Ekans is now being treated in our hospital. When her physical wounds have healed, she will become a resident of...

We Could Lose 1 Species Every Hour. In 50 Years We.. 25th Mar 2024, by WWF Malaysia
We could lose 1 species every hour. In 50 years we lost over 69% of wildlife populations. (Source: Living Planet Report)
This past Earth Hour, over the 60 minutes, we lost forests larger than six square kilometres – that’s more than three times the size of Batu Caves!
Although #EarthHour 2024 has passed, you can still act to turn an hour into years for the wildlife you love. As we countdown to #EarthDay on 22 April, make a donation that would help take care of endangered species and tackle...

Cow Mau’s Cremains Are Back With Us 25th Mar 2024, by AnimalCare
Cow Mau’s cremation was done on 24th March and his cremains were brought back to us this afternoon.
I will usually place all cremains on our shrine table until I am ready to commit them to the earth, which will be in our garden. In Cow Mau’s case, it will be Bunny’s Garden where he had lived.
It’s very sad when I looked through my phone calendar today. I saw Cow Mau’s next medical appointment supposedly on this Thursday and his next Advocate spot-on reminder in Apr...

The Monsters’ Breakfast 25th Mar 2024, by AnimalCare
I haven’t written enough about the Monsters. Maybe it’s because they don’t give much trouble, especially when it comes to eating!
But yes, they do fight. Only that it’s not the type that ends with me having to take them to the vet’s. It’s just the very noisy type. Thank goodness for that!
It’s been some time already that I could just mix their probiotics powder and sprinkle fish oil into their food. This makes feeding them the supplements so, so much ea...

The Porch Situation Now 25th Mar 2024, by AnimalCare
Creamy came for two days in the row and the situation at the Porch was quite chaotic. Gerald and Misty didn’t dare to eat again.
This morning, there were no signs of Creamy…
Misty is getting to be very affectionate nowadays. Maybe, one day, I will be able to open her mouth and deworm her.
Both ate breakfast.
But when husband went to work later, he said he saw Misty carrying a bird in her mouth. Sigh…it’s their natural instinct to hunt.
The circle of life.
The post Th...

Naughty Blondies 25th Mar 2024, by AnimalCare
Today was not a good feeding morning for the Blondies. I only managed to get Kai to eat.
That’s Kai.
Managed to coax Samantha to eat much later.
Akira and Indra said, “No, thanks. Who needs to eat?”
After more coaxing and more time, Indra obliged.
Still a “no” from Akira.
But later…
Everyone gobbled up kibble!
The thing with eating kibble is that it makes them put on a lot of weight. It could be due to the fact that kibble has carbohydrates. Akira alrea...

Indy’s Illness 25th Mar 2024, by AnimalCare
Indy started having a little bit of runny nose about a week ago and I had already started him on anti-histamines.
Four days ago, he stopped eating. At that time, Cow Mau was still in a critical condition and I didn’t want to leave the house. But I force fed him and have been doing that since then. I added a mucolytic and nebulised him too. It helped a bit, but the runny nose did not go away entirely.
When I took Cow Mau for his 3rd and last laser therapy, I brought Indy along and the vet a...
