Today, We Had To Do Something We Hate Doing - Aski.. 27th Jul 2023, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Today, we had to do something we hate doing - asking for and removing Nica from her adopter's home. Our 'inspector' had gone to have a look at Nica several times found her chained up. The chain was short and tied around her neck without a collar. We strongly believe that dogs must not live their lives chained up 24/7. It is okay to chain up your pet dog momentarily when you are taking your car out or bringing it in or need to keep your gate open for a while. So we took Nica back and she will be ...

Dyk One Of The Pests To Rice Farming In Ba Kelalan.. 27th Jul 2023, by WWF Malaysia
#DYK One of the pests to rice farming in Ba’ Kelalan, Sarawak, is the golden apple snail?
Golden apple snails usually attack the paddy seedlings aged below 20 days. Destroyed seedlings mean lower rice yields. To address this without using harmful pesticides, WWF-Malaysia helped some farmers to adopt the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method. By applying this method that plants paddy seeds on trays and controls the water level, it reduces the snail’s spread, especially to other paddy...

Rice Is Consumed At Almost Every Meal, Even Today... 27th Jul 2023, by WWF Malaysia
Rice is consumed at almost every meal, even today. It is without a doubt a staple food among Asians. Feeding Asia with rice definitely needs to be sustainable. If not, we will run out of land and rice to eat pretty quickly. And what happens then? Nature is spoiled and human well-being is affected. 🌾🍚
Our team in Sarawak has been working on sustainable rice farming in the highlands of Ba’ Kelalan for a number of years now. Recently, a cross-learning trip for farmers was held where nine...

Joby came to us with not one, but two injured legs. 😥 Her left hind leg had an open wound and her left front leg had muscle atrophy. She must have been in so much pain. 😔 Being a stray cat, we’ll never know how she sustained such injuries.
Due to the extent of the muscle wastage on her front leg, it sadly couldn’t be saved despite the best efforts of our veterinary team. The damage was just too far gone to be repaired.
Being the strong and brave girl she is, Joby is learning to adj...

Can you believe this sweet boy has been waiting for his forever home for two years?😥 https://www.soidog.org/adopt/julley-2892
Julley was just two months old when he was hit by a car. Young, vulnerable and alone, all he could do was limp along the road, hoping someone would notice.
