As usual, when were in Rawang on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday managing our cattery, we went cat trapping too. These 8 cats ( 6 females and 2 males ) were caught and sent for neutering after the catch. Please help to sponsor their neutering costs so we can help more.

Jaws was hit by a car on one of the busiest roads of Phuket... She was hit so violently that she couldn't move. Thankfully, a kind policeman saw this poor soul in desperate need and laid a mat for her, and gave Jaws some water. 🙏🐾 She was terrified, but was so grateful for that act of kindness.

One of most frequently asked questions during our virtual tour is, "Why do you microchip the terrapins, and does it hurt?"
We insert a microchip the size of a grain of Basmathi rice into the body cavity of the river terrapins for individual identification. We are unable to tell the terrapins apart just by looking at the physical characteristics. Moreover, we produce at least 200 hatchlings per year.

I am Paloka and I would like to tell you my sad, sad story. I was extremely terrified and timid when I arrived at Soi Dog in 2018. My heart was beating so fast I had to be sedated so the vets could examine me 😱😱 Turns out I had a severe ear infection and one of my legs was badly injured. I couldn’t walk and I screamed when the vets tried to touch it. How this happened is a secret that only I know. And I carry this trauma with me every day.

How many turtles are there in Malaysia?
Out of seven species of sea turtles in the world, four species nest on the beaches of Malaysia, i.e. Leatherback Turtles, Green Turtles, Hawksbill Turtles and Olive Ridley Turtles.
And out of more than 350 species of freshwater turtles and tortoises in the world, 18 species are native to Malaysia. This includes our river and painted terrapins, box turtles, softshell turtles and terrestrial tortoises.
