A tiny calico kitten who was rescued with an injured leg was adopted by a US army veteran who became disabled in combat.
Sophia (formerly Sprinkles) came to San Diego Humane Society with a severely injured leg. “We believe her umbilical cord wrapped around her rear leg and cut off her circulation,” the shelter said.
Karolyn Smith, a US army veteran who was injured in combat, was looking to adopt a cat. When she came to the shelter, she saw Sophia, it was love at first sight.

After returning from Afghanistan and moving across country, Joshua Baines, a war veteran trying to readjust to society asks for help.
Two months apart from his dogs has him missing their comforting snuggles and eyes that make him feel safe in his home. Mariah offers to take the cross-country journey after seeing the dogs aren’t eating much, in hopes seeing their owner will revive their spirits.

Rufus, a goofy Pharoah Hound, lives with Sara Rehnmark in Santa Monica, California. Sara describes him as "a funny dog who smiles on command", but the adventures Sara envisions for Rufus when he's sleeping make all the rest of us smile.

Gluta’s owner, Sorasart Wisetsin, originally came across the sweet dog on the streets of Thailand in October of 2012. At the time he was living in a dormitory with a strict no dogs policy. He was drawn to her from day one and started giving her food and love. The Ilioupolis Animal Welfare Union (IAWU) has its hands full rescuing the stray dogs and cats of Ilioupoli, Greece. This organization regularly saves dogs and cats that are sick, injured, or abused from this area. Billy was one of the most miraculous recoveries.

The Cat House Of Dreams

Keeping our cats indoors keeps them safe from traffic, falling off balconies, being attacked by dogs, and many other perils.
It's important, though, to remember that cats love climbing to high places and sharpening their claws on trees.
We may not all be able to create an interior space as idyllic as this one, but this video has some great ideas that we can use in our own homes to keep both us and our furry ones happy and healthy.
