Sonia's Story

How much more can she take?
This is a photo of Sonia waiting for her turn to see the vet in the clinic.
Sonia has been in the SPCA for a month. During this month, we gave her a lot of Tender Loving Care. Our officers also took her to swim, took her on walks, she is much more energetic than before. Her fur is also very silky, the vet is very impressed with the improvement!

Sonia's Story

One step closer to a happy future for Sonia!
A private sponsor came forward to us and agreed to sponsor Sonia's medication fee!
Sonia is now acting a lot more cheerful in the SPCA after a lot of tender loving care. She is still on her treatment for tick fever, and the surgery is scheduled for next week! The growth on her face has become smaller and less swollen.

CAN YOU HELP US TURF OUR NEW HOME?

Volunteers needed to help with turfing (planting grass) at our new E.R.A. Centre at the following times and dates:
1 - 4 May (Fri- Mon) - 10AM - 4PM
There will be two sessions; 10AM - 1PM and 1PM - 4PM
It will be hot and you will get messy! Please bring an extra set of clothes, water, hat, and sunblock :)

GSD needs a new home asap!
4-year-old male. Owners had to move to apartment, has been feeding the dog everyday in the old house which is up for sale. Dog is currently under treatment for diarrhea.

Two female dogs need homes urgently - mother (first photo) and daughter (the dog on the right in the cage). They seem to be Spitz-mix.
The squatter houses where they are living are going to be demolished soon, and their owners have no choice but to move to a flat where they will not be able to keep the dogs.

Fido's Story!

After a month of him observing humans interacting with other dogs, Fido slowly slowly started to get nearer to human.
One of our senior volunteer, Mr Teh, stepped into SPCA one day. He spend most of his time sitting quietly with Fido and after one week, Fido finally let Mr Teh touch and pet him! He also started to let our officers go near to him when we have treat.
Guess what? Fido is a really sweet marshmallow. Just look at his happy face when we scratched him!

CHERRY
Cherry is a young female, about 15 months old.She was part of the group of strays rescued from Pandamaran, Klang. Although Cherry can be a little shy when you first meet her but she soon learns to trust you after a few treats! Cherry will make a good companion dog.

MAJOR
Major was suffering from a severe case of dermodex mange when he was rescued but has since recovered. This guy is approximately 3 years old and was rescued from Eng Aun Gardens in Klang. He is a quiet dog who enjoys his own company, sitting by himself mostly and watching the world go by.

Scotty & Oreo (7.5 months old)
Scotty & Oreo were rescued along with their siblings several months ago. The others have been adopted as young pups. Oreo was adopted and returned as her adopter (an elderly lady) couldn't handle her as she was very active.
Oreo is a black&white mix-breed (possibly some Collie mix). She is very active, and would do well in a home with a lot of space to run around in, as well as a family who would take her out to exercise.

Gigi was rescued as she was roaming the streets of Bangsar several months ago. She is now 7.5 months old. She was possibly a pet, as she is very friendly and loving! She just likes being next to people, just sitting next to you will make her happy.

Fido's Story!

Fido was abused by his previous owner.
They brought Fido in during December 2014, passed us a cane and told our animal welfare officer that he is very fierce, we'll need the cane.
He's overweight, probably just feed and no exercise at all in his previous home.
He was very aware of human, growled whenever the officers went near to him and always hide in a corner.
After a week, he started to play with the other dogs but still looked very worry and back off when human appeared.
