Neutering Aid For 1 Cat In Bandar Sungai Long (Chew Ghee Cheeng’s)
12th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

We have provided an aid of RM60 for the neutering of this cat (female). Snow Shoes suddenly appeared in my apartment’s car park in Bandar Sungai Long on 28-Feb-2019.  She came running when I did my usual lunch call for the cats I feed every day.  Because there is a still a boy cat that is whole in my carpark who would let me feed but not go near, I decided to have her spayed once I was certain she is a stray and not somebody’s cat that is on the loose.  My neighbour t...

Vincent’s Morning
12th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

It rained heavily last night and Vincent stayed in his cage at the patio. Before I slept, he was in the bathroom, but I found him in the cage this morning, wet, due to the sudden heavy downpour last night. He wanted to eat, so, I tried. But failed. He did, however, lick a bit of yesterday’s ikan bawal, but I know he only wants fresh foods, so maybe I’ll steam a fish for him later today. The Cow Clan ate up half of yesterday’s “left-overs”. By “left-0vers&rdq...

A New Kid On The Block
12th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

If you remember, a furry white cat tried to come into our porch many weeks ago and Ginger “chased” him away from inside of Stargate2. The furry white cat tried again a few days ago. Last night, another ginger cat tried to come in. Our new super-alpha, Ginger, was on hand to protect his territory, again, from the inside of Stargate2. He made a war-cry that sent me rushing to Stargate2. There, I saw the new rather tallish ginger cat. He was tall and slim. And he wasn’t about to m...

Goat’s Milk Liquid Food, Ikan Bawal And Renate
11th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

Vincent came out many times today asking for food and I couldn’t get it right… …until I gave him this liquid food. The other bowl is homemade steamed chicken from a broth, but he didn’t want any of that. This is Cindy’s liquid food with goat’s milk and it is meant for kittens and special needs adult cats. I saw Vincent pawing his mouth and I know it’s the rotten teeth on either side that must be causing pain. Poor boy…. I gave him Ciao treats ...

Vincent’s “elaborate” Breakfast
11th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

I came downstairs at 6.30am this morning and Vincent was lying down in the cage in the patio. Everyone else waited for breakfast. I fed Zurik and Buddy first (this needs watching so that Buddy doesn’t snatch Zurik’s food), then Tabs et al, and then, the Cow Clan. Vincent did not come for food, so that’s okay. I’ve already told Vincent quite a number of times now that if he doesn’t feel like eating, it’s perfectly okay. He doesn’t have to eat. After every...

A Happy Hearty Feast For Vincent!
10th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

We came back from taiji at about 4.30pm and Vincent came into the kitchen to ask for food. I offered Monge, but he didn’t want that, so I gave him the steamed chicken we got for lunch and even though it was cold, he went for it. But it was cold, so I quickly took it away to steam and replaced it with raw liver and chicken fillet. He ate that too. Very quickly, the steamed chicken was all warmed up and Vincent had a feast! https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads /2019/03/8-video-1.mp...

Vincent’s Prognosis, Back From Clinic
10th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

We made the trip to the clinic this morning. I decided not to do the subcut yet and thought I’d do it after the visit. However, the vet found Vincent severely dehydrated and the subcut had to be done immediately at the clinic. It was 300ml too, due to the severe dehydration. Vincent’s muscle wastage is also very severe. He was given his second Darbepoetin jab and the B12 jab. A urine sample was taken by expressing his bladder and his proteinurea is extremely high. This comes as no su...

A Fuss-Free Happy Meal For Vincent
10th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

I came downstairs this morning, and Vincent greeted me by coming in from the patio. Heidi, Tabs and Ginger had already gone upstairs to wake me up earlier. I greeted Vincent happily as I do every morning (relieved that he is alright, still able to walk, etc.) and told him that if he wants to eat, he can come into the kitchen. He did. And he waited like everyone else. I took out all the Tupperware containers of yesterday’s food from the fridge and vowed I’m going to finish it all up a...

The Same Old Story, Until…
9th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

It was Einstein who said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. It is true, especially when it comes to feeding Vincent. Since tomorrow is Sunday, I went to the pet store and bought a variety of food back, for Vincent. Yes, even dogfood. Amy was so kind she gave me a few more sample packets of RC Exigent (the one that Vincent loved earlier on). Later in the evening, I went back and bought a packet of RC BabyCat as well. I thought I was all ready for...

A New Eatery With Meatless Options
9th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

Oftentimes, it can be a little difficult to get meatless options at some eateries, but not so at this new eatery which opened along SS18/6 in Subang Jaya recently. It’s called “Little Wonders”. It doesn’t have a signboard yet, but the address is No. 51, SS18/6, Subang Jaya. We have been there three times now and we are impressed with the food (I’d say it’s of a 5-star standard) and the service (also 5-star standard). The two chefs are very friendly and humble....

Project-Based Applications (new!!)
9th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

We are introducing something new – Project-Based Applications! This special provision is for caregivers who want to do the neutering and/or vaccination of a certain colony with a fixed number of animals, in a short time. Our current policy only allows a maximum of 3 animals per week, but if there is an urgency to do more to stabilise a colony quickly, we now have this provision to help. However, it is still dependent on fund availability. So, if you have an urgent need to do more than 3 an...

Vincent’s Lunch With A Twist
9th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

At about 1.00pm, Vincent came into the kitchen to ask for food. He was all excited when Ginger asked for kibble. The sound of kibble being poured out has always excited Vincent. He used to come running into the kitchen whenever I emptied out a bag of kibble into the container. The smell of raw meat also used to get him all excited. When I used to cook for the cats, I would come home armed with trays of raw meat. Vincent would jump onto the counter and ask for a piece. He would take a whole piece...

Sitting Like A Lion
9th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

Still very dignified. His spirit is strong. Subcut. I think he knows he needs this. No resistance at all. And this always happens: When we reach 200ml, Vincent will sit up. He knows it is almost over. He just knows.

Supporting Vincent
9th Mar 2019, by AnimalCare

Vincent was in a pretty bad state last night. It rained and I brought him into the bathroom where it would be warmer but he did not like that. So, he went back out to his favourite place, the trolley. That place is shielded from the rain, but I was afraid it would be cold, but looks like Vincent decides what he wants and where he wants to be. With a spirit that strong, I have to respect him. Of course I do not want to cage him and restrict his movements. He has the whole house and side garden to...
