The Bench “problem” And “stink” Stories

It’s always been a problem…for more than seven years already.
Ever since we bought it.
We bought this beautiful teak bench for the cats when we first moved in. But soon enough, it became a target of spraying by the alpha-amigos, Cow, Bunny and Indy.
You can imagine how difficult it was to wipe the bench with urine seeping into the gaps and over time, surely the acidity of the urine would spoil the wood too.
So I covered it with bedsheets and have been doing this for seven years now...

This is Ginger’s daily routine – the whining.

I did ask the vet intern yesterday why Ginger is obese thought he eats “little”. We finally concluded that maybe it is because Ginger is not active. He doesn’t run around much unless he escapes, then he will chase the outside cats and will be really fast (Usain Bolt might not even be able to do Ginger’s short sprints).

Last night, Zurik started on RetroMAD1, the anti-viral that was experimental many years ago.
It was my friend, Agnes, who reminded me that RetroMAD1 might be worth a try, so I contacted my friend, Anita, who recently bought 3 bottles of RetroMAD1 for her cat, to ask from where I could purchase them. Ginger’s Back Home…..with Two Teeth Extracted!

Today was Ginger’s turn.
This was after he was put on drips, before surgery. He wasn’t frightened like Cow or Bunny (who was terrified). Ginger was as cool as a cucumber, looking around curiously.
This is after the surgery – totally wide awake and curious.
Probably saying, “Hmm….why am I here? Did anything happen?”
The vet intern said, “Ginger is a chill cat!”. Haha….he is, he is!

Zurik Is Strong!

I guess Zurik has regained his strength now (which is good). He has becoming quite choosy with food too, something which I’m learning now. Previously, as you know, he only came for meals 2-3 times a day and would disappear after that.
He does like to sit under our cars in the porch and also the shoe rack. Other than that, he would be in his roof sanctuary.

It’s Ginger’s Turn Today

For a few days now, Ginger has been occupying the “sick bay”. I prepared this for Bunny with fresh towels but Bunny only used it for one night. Then, Ginger quickly took over. We think it’s a territorial thing, or is it because he knows he is going in for a dental procedure and might need to be in the “sick bay”. We will never know what cats know or how much they actually “know”.

Zurik’s Test Results – It IS FIP

All my hopes are dashed now. The Rivalta test was positive, which means there is an 86% chance that it is FIP. Coupled with the pleural effusion where the liquid is yellow and sticky, the positive corona virus test on the blood and the ALB/GLOB ratio being 0.5, it all points towards FIP.
