Why "Myanimalcare.org" 27th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
A few people came by our booth at the petfinder event and asked why our website is "myanimalcare" and not just "animalcare".Well, that's because I could not purchase the domain name "animalcare". It had already been bought by someone else! That's why I had to use "myanimalcare" and "my" was supposed to stand for "malaysia", but the general perception is that it is the pronoun "my", so...never mind!"ouranimalcare" would have looked really weird! As Shakespeare would say, What's in a name...

Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/04/spaying-operat ion-cancelled.htmlMrs Goh brought a female to be spayed under our sponsorship but it was discovered that the cat was not fit to be spayed. The vet called me last night to inform me that upon further investigation, it is another case of diaphragmatic hernia (again!)Surgery is possible, but it is high-risk. In certain cases (as in the case of Buzz), the cat can live on comfortably but must be prevented from jumping and bumpin...

I am a total IT-ignoramus. 100% illiterate. Ever since purchasing our domain name, I've realised "myanimalcare.org" does not work. It only works with the "www." preceding it. I didn't know why and I didn't know how to solve it.....until Andy Koh of Petfinder.my wrote to me yesterday and offered help. Voila....he's got it done now! So, now you can type "myanimalcare.org" on your browser and it works!!! (Could you please test it an...

The appointment for Horsey's amputation had been made for today and fosterer Lydia has also re-scheduled her appointments to meet Horsey when she arrives today. However, Joanne sent a message today to say she is ill and is not able to bring Horsey to the clinic. I will re-schedule the appointment to the next available slot, but it has to be really soon because the wound is already swollen and the surgery should not be delayed anymore.

Ginger's Second Mange Jab 26th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
While we were at Sunway Pyramid, Alex brought Ginger for his second mange jab:I took Ginger for her 2nd jab yesterday. There was a lot of pets and owners in the clinic yesterday so I waited for a bit. (Ginger even fell asleep in the carrier!) Her 2nd jab went smoothly without much fuss, and despite the more than an hour wait, it only lasted a couple of minutes! However, the vet expressed concern that Ginger had not gained much weight, despite having a great appetite. But I'm going to give her an...

Ginger Male Cat, Neutered 26th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
A few days ago, Azna sent another cat (a male) to be neutered under our sponsorship. See? I'm a happy cat. Neutered, but happy! We neutered male cats are not so aggressive and we won't get prostate cancer so easily when we're older. We're also more loving and we don't fight for girlfriends - girl-cats - who needs them! But we will still fight to protect our territory - no compromise on that!Viva la CNRM!!

Nandhini's 2 rescued female dogs were spayed some time last week under our sponsorhip. We paid for the spaying charges and shared out the boarding with Nandhini. The boarding was necessary as these dogs lived in a temple in Klang and the environment was not conducive for post-surgical recuperation. These dogs have been giving birth at the temple and Nandhini has got many of the puppies adopted now (we sponsored the vaccinations), and we will help the new adopters with the spay-neuter ...

It's been a very busy day, mostly in making arrangements for Horsey.Joanne is agreeable on the amputation for Horsey but she needed a fosterer to look after Horsey for post-surgical care.Lydia (bless her kind heart) has responded now, and will look after Horsey for about one month until she (Horsey) is well enough to be rehomed. Lydia has a lot of experience in taking care of animals with special needs. She also does physiotherapy for animals with paresis and paralysis. I can't think...

I wrote to the ADUN of Subang Jaya, YB Hannah Yeoh, for help over Jackie, the Melaka kitten, trapped in an unoccupied shoplot. Mr Rajiv and Mr Ram (YB's husband) had both been very helpful. Here's Mr Ram's replies:Dear Catherina,I'm glad that your kitten is safe and sound now.Hannah is checking with our local council over here, MPSJ on which party has the rightful authority to enter such a premise in those circumstances.
