Mum-Cat And Kittens For Adoption, From Su Ann 19th May 2011, by AnimalCare
Su Ann wrote to me sometime last year. Apparently, a kitten was stuck inside a very deep drain and the mum-cat was trying to get her out. One of our volunteers went to help, but there was no way a human could enter that drain. Finally, the kitten got out herself and all was well.Su Ann had been tryingto catch the mum-cat to get her spayed and finally, after so many months, Su Ann managed to do it!We had offered to sponsor the spaying, but Su Ann got it done all by herself. ...

As usual, our storyboard is the main attraction. That's Mandy arranging the tshirts.Terry (lon...

Close Encounters Of The Sweetest Kind 16th May 2011, by AnimalCare
Yesterday was our Pre-Wesak tshirt sale in the Bandar Utama Buddhist Society. Even before my talk started, a little girl and her mom came up to me and introduced themselves. According to mom, Yi Lin (the little girl) loves reading my books and because of what she has read, they have now adopted a stray cat. Yi Lin was clutching Pawprints and Rainbow Bridge and asked me to autograph her books. She has not read Indy Jones. So I got a friend to get a copy of Indy Jones and I...

Lilac Is Sitting On Her Chest And Amber Is As Happy As A Lark 15th May 2011, by AnimalCare
I visited Lilac yesterday. She was lying very still with her chin down and it looked a little worrying, but the moment I called her name, she mewed! She knows her name (well, remember, she was someone's pet before). I called her three times, and she answered each time. Gosh...that really melted my heart completely.Lilac was also sitting on her chest already, so that was a good sign.I've checked with both our vets, recovery is usually very good in these cases. Lilac....

Amber, After The First TVT Jab 14th May 2011, by AnimalCare
We were all quite worried how Amber would take the first TVT jab, seeing how she was quite emaciated and all.So, I went to visit yesterday evening. The first jab was given in the morning. Here she is...Why are the photos so blur, you may ask? It's because she is so active and cannot stop moving, that's why! Granted, I also only had my (not so expensive) handphone with me!So, the vet said there doesn't seem to be anything to worry about if she's still so active. However, we cannot...

Revised Postal Charges (for Tshirt Orders) 14th May 2011, by AnimalCare
Sorry folks, I know it's never good news whenever there is a price hike in anything these days (unless it's a salary hike, which seldom happens!).I have to revise our postal rates because: 1. Poslaju seems to be so inconsistent in their rates. I've sent one tshirt for RM5.70 and another one tshirt for RM8. Gee....I don't know what is going on here, but what to do? Could be the weight, I guess. 2. We have sizes from 28 to 46. A Size 46 weighs so much more...

Surgery On Lilac, Cat Injured In A Car Accident 14th May 2011, by AnimalCare
This is an extremely long story which had kept me busy practically all day yesterday, but I shall spare you the agony of having to read a long and potentially confusing story and just stick to the important facts.Lilac, a female cat, was someone's pet-cat. Apparently, a car had run over Lilac (I heard it was the owner's car) and the owner did not want her anymore. Lisa took it upon herself to rescue Lilac and brought her to our panel vet for treatment. ...
