Tango, Stray Puppy, Spayed 14th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Tango is one of the many stray dogs/puppies fed by Roselin at a construction site in Section 17, PJ. Roselin has gone through great lengths to rescue many of these dogs, and right now, she is still fostering Ms J, Molly and Tyra (it is so hard to find homes for adult street dogs). John Wayne is another foster of Roselin's and apparently, he bit Roselin sometime last week. It is no easy task for Roselin, managing dogs AND cats on a daily basis as sometimes fights would break out...

Another Great Rescue...by Koo! 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
You know, not only does Koo do great rescue work, he also writes fantastically-detailed accounts which needs no editing at all. Aunty Jenny is a dog-feeder in Ara Damansara, and she called me last week asking for help to spay-neuter some dogs and to rehome some puppies. There was, apparently, this dog who was so elusive and was very difficult to catch. She needed help.Well, who else did I know but Koo, right? So, I asked Koo if he could help.Koo obliged. Here's the account...

The Cow And Mr Squirrel 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Mr Squirrel (the tree shrew) has been frequenting my room these days, and I did wonder why. In the past two days, he even brought his friend along. It was quite a relief to me because I had not seen his friend for a long time ever since the renovation work started at the back. I'm glad his friend is safe. It is not easy to take photos of Mr Squirrel, so this is a real treat. Hi, Mr Squirrel! Er...what are you up to? (Sometimes humans are so stupid.......

Who Would Do A Thing Like This? (Animal Bombs) 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Huey sent this: http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?f ile=/2011/7/13/north/9092295&sec=NorthI'm quite lost for words. WHO would have so much time to do a thing like this? Seems like a case of mischief, but at the expense of using animals, which is exploitation. Seems like the work of a real pest. You know, aeons ago, humans lived quite harmoniously (meaning, by the laws of nature) with the animals in the jungle. Then, humans became "civilised", created vi...

Massive improvement!"We're really glad Mama-Cat's condition has improved so much. Our initial worry was that she could be FIV+ or suffering from leukemia, which would cause her not to heal well. Two Male Cats Neutered (Amy Tham's) 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Amy Tham is a cat-feeder and rescuer at her apartment area. Today, she brought two male cats to be neutered under our sponsorship at our panel vet. This a male cat rescued some weeks back, supposedly to be sent for neutering but he had diarrhoea, so it was postponed until now. He's active and curious. He jumped all over the clinic. The vet detected a "lump" inside, but he said it does not disturb the cat, so we'd best just leave it as it is. At least, for now. &...

Updates On Karuna 12th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Our vet is very pleased with Karuna's progress. It isn't often that I hear such superlatives from our vet, who tends to be very down-to-earth, realistic and careful in his comments. But Karuna IS doing very well. All her wounds are healing and her appetite is fantastic. One of my friends wanted to cook chicken and eggs for Karuna, but the vet advised against this as he does not want a change of diet at this point. It might cause diarrhoea, which we all know, is most unwelcomed. &n...

What Blind Humans Do....please Pray For The 2 Penang Dogs 12th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
About two hours ago, as I was driving back, I received an sms from a friend who had heard from another friend that the verdict has been passed - the 2 Penang dogs who attacked the Irishman, will be put down, while the other 2 will be sent back to the owner. I am not a person who gets angry easily...but when I heard this news, I was angry.I was so angry at the ignorance of some humans who think that by killing these two dogs who merely acted out of instinct, they can get some sort of (obvio...
