12th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

KTAJ informed me today that Annie (the dog rescued from the Pet Boarding cruelty case) started vomiting and had a temperature of 40 degrees.  Annie had been boarding at the vet's for 6 days after her rescue, but the vets found nothing wrong with her at all.  Annie was discharged on Saturday when she was given a clean bill of health by the vet. She has since been fostered at Papa Meow's sanctuary: http://kucing2terbiar.blogspot.com /2011/09/hari-kedua-annie.htmlI think KTAJ will br...

Manja's Limp
12th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

CP has been feeding this family of former strays (now community cats) around her house - Mimi, Didi and Manja. Manja is Didi's mother and Mimi is Didi's "wife" of sorts.  A few days ago, CP was very concerned that Manja had not been eating and was limping. So, it was off to the vet's:  Manja did not dare come out of the carrier, so they had to open the top. Comforting Manja while the vet checks her hind leg. Checking the bones in her paws. The vet did not find anythi...

12th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

Azie was very worried yesterday as she noticed Hero has started a develop another bulge again, so I told her to bring Hero back for a check-up this morning.Azie sent these photos:As I was at work this morning, the vet called to explain Hero's condition. Snake Alert!!
11th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

There was quite a commotion in my house just now. Out of the blue, we suddenly saw Bunny carrying a snake in his mouth! It was so, so scary, to say the least. My husband said Bunny brought the snake down from upstairs and was heading towards the window to take it out.  I'm hopelessly terrified of snakes, so I was literally frozen with fear.  But I saw it dangling from Bunny's mouth.  Ming-Yi and my husband tracked Bunny down and he was with the (already dead) snake under a car...

Baloo And Bagheera It Is Then!
11th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

The votes are in....we'll keep the name Baloo and Bagheera even though they are girls! But I did like Cherry and Blossom, and Lily and Lola....thank you, maybe next time, I'll use these names.  And from what we have observed, Baloo is very brave and adventurous. Bagheera is the well-behaved one. The morning started off with Bagheera poo-ing....nice poo. And Baloo trying to eat Bobby's stir-fried chicken. May I have some please, Uncle Bobby? A wee bit? Uncle Bobby ca...

Calico Is Discharged!
11th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

I went to visit Calico after my talk this morning and found her waiting for company... So lonely in a BIG room all by herself now that Mekee and Russian have been discharged. I'm pretty sure she is on heat. She keeps wanting to nuzzle all the time. I asked permission from the vet to feed Calico, since they do not have time to give her frequent meals. That's Hill Science ID. Calico is to be given 1/4 can. So, so hungry....which is a good sign because she's trying to regain her...

Baloo And Bagheera Are Girls....!! And The Wormy Story
11th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

It was a totally mad day for me yesterday. I spent more than 2 hours settling the KTAJ 3 cats and 1 dog at the PJ vet, and after that I rushed back to Subang Jaya to take the blueys for their deworming. On weekends, our vet's little daughter helps out at the clinic. She's completely enchanted by the blueys. Dharshini (that's her name) tells me she wants to be a vet next time. Great choice! The blueys have put on weight, too! Both were dewormed.AND....here's news for all o...

4 Cats Vaccinated
11th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

Last month, Aimy Rashid asked for help to vaccinate 6 kittens under our subsidy. One was found to have diarrhoea and another had already been vaccinated. So, only four were done. Yesterday, Aimy asked for help again, for the 2nd vaccination, and she asked if we could sponsor. She also asked for her other kittens.  We do not have the provision to sponsor vaccinations. We already provide free spay-neuter and subsidise medical treatment, which often ends up as sponsorship because some res...

2 Cats And 1 Dog Discharged (Pet Boarding Cruelty Case)
10th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

When the very unfortunate and tragic Pet Boarding Cruelty case surfaced on Sunday (that's just 7 days ago), I immediately offered our help with all the cats that needed medical attention. It was a Sunday, and our panel vets were closed, so the cats were sent to a vet in PJ. A total of six cats were sent in and three were declared fit enough to be sent back (to KTAJ). Another three cats were boarded for treatment; all three were horribly emaciated, their torso were bald (fur bitten off) and they w...

10th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

Baloo started getting really adventurous yesterday..... Playtime!! Baloo loves laps. He's been doing quite a bit of this...maybe looking up to see what's on top.Or, maybe he is just stretching his neck. He loves being with Bobby. The poor thing keeps looking for teats on Bobby. Bagheera is not so adventurous and prefers to play it safe. Baloo settles comfortably. But soon, he decides to venture out.... To the kitchen first....what's this? What an interesting...
