Animals Do Not "Steal" Food Or Use Public Toilets
5th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

I was thinking about Hero the Cat's case. Apparently, his front legs were chopped off by someone because Hero tried to "steal" a fish to eat. Here's a fine example of human "unreasonableness" (actually, I prefer "stupidity"), ie. applying humans' code of conduct on animals and not knowing that animals are not capable of such intelligence.  How on earth would an animal know it's not supposed to TAKE food when it is hungry? That's not how it is if you go by Nature's laws. When hungry, lo...

Fosterer Needed Urgently For Rescued Kitten (Sheryl Hoh's)
4th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

From Sheryl:  I found this kitten under a bus at Asia Jaya LRT station this afternoon. It was too sleepy and hungry to move. I asked the workers around there and they said the kitten has been walking around but nobody has fed her. I picked her up and wanted to get a taxi to section 14. Since it's Fri, taxi was limited and the few I flagged down didn't want to take me because of the kitten although I told them I'd hold her securely. Anyway, I walked to section 14 looking for a box....

4th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

From Dawn:Sugar & Lumie (the orphaned kitten)After Sugar was discharged on 24Oct11, we picked up her and brought her to Dianne (her adopter). In addition to her fierce and bad-tempered nature, she was exceptionally aggressive the first night, chasing Lumie, biting her owners and acting hysterical like a possessed cat. Her adopters contacted me the nxt morning, terrified and not happy about it. They agreed to give Sugar a bit more time to settle and calm down from the medication and...

3rd Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

Sometime last week, Dewi Kencana Putri wrote to me about four kittens whom she had rescued. The kittens had "kerengga" (huge ants) crawling all over them. I found 4 kittens estimating 2-3 weeks old. They were covered with many kerengga. I took them and brought them home. I already give them milk ( pets own milk ), put glove filled with hot water (like the one I saw in your blog) under a blanket below them.. After their meal, I tried to stimulate their bowels but nothings came out. Each one ...

Two Female Cats Spayed (Rani's)
3rd Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

Rani brought two female cats to be spayed under our sponsorship. Both cats already have adopters.I know what some people might be thinking - It's endless, isn't it?Yes, it is. But so is the human population. Humans keep breeding, too, don't they?  It IS endless, that's the circle of life. But animals have no intelligent control over their breeding, so we help by getting them spayed-neutered. For every animal that is spayed-neutered, thousands of unwanted births and deaths hav...

A Very Nice Sharing By Izni Zahidi
3rd Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

Here's something nice from Izni Zahidi: A stray cat gave birth to two kittens in my apartment building about three weeks ago. She was always hiding her kittens so I never really got close to them despite endless attempts to gain her trust. Two days ago when I was about to leave for work, I found her and the kittens right at my door (photo attached). It's like she was asking for help so my husband and I got a big box to house her little family and provide them with food and water. Last night...

Another Female Cat Spayed (Alex Kam's)
3rd Nov 2011, by AnimalCare

Alex Kam contacted me two days ago about catching this female cat at her workplace to be spayed. I lent her a trap and a cage for this purpose, but the catching process turned out to be much easier as the cat walked straight into her carrier! So, the cat was sent to our panel vet and has already been spayed. Currently, the cat is still boarding at the clinic as Alex cannot foster her. Upon recovery, Alex will return the cat to the colony to be reunited with her kittens. According to Al...
