Indy Eats On His Own!!! 22nd Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Indy slept on our bed all of last night. I woke up a few times throughout the night to check on him and his body did not feel overly warm. I was worried the fever would escalate in the night.
This morning I woke to find him walking around the room, as though waiting for me. It was already “late” by my standards, 6.30am. I”m exhausted with all the rushing around and especially the worry, and I need sleep to recover.
I went into the bathroom and Indy followed. He definitely looks...

Oh No, Not The Emus Too, Please! 14th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
I read this two days ago: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2 011/12/12/focus/10079396&sec=focus
Apparently, the writer suggests that emus be farmed for commercial purpose since its meat can be eaten and its other byproducts such as oil, skin, feathers, eggs, blown out egg shells, nails, claws, bones etc. sold and marketed as handicraft, etc.
I wonder if the writer would even take a moment to consider the possibility of a stronger species governing our planet and farming humans for...

Indy Is Much Better Today, But… 14th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
It was almost opening time, so I went to get Indy to take him to the vet’s.
Good old Bunny! He’s still staying with Indy.
There’s Indy. Come out, please.
Nope.
So I had to pull him out and he wasn’t too happy about that.
True, which cat in its right frame of mind would want to go to an unfamiliar place, right?
Indy was distressed all the way in the car, in that 5-min ride.
Unlike Bunny who would go exploring the clinic, Indy went to hide.
The vet said Indy’s gai...

Indy And His Bodyguard 14th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Thank you, everyone, for your prayers for Indy and for sending him good vibes.
Indy spend the night in his blue basket in the shrine room. This morning, I brought his food up for him and later, fed him his medicines. He ate up all his food. Medicines – a minor struggle, but he ate that, too.
We had to go water the lawn in the new house, so I left him for awhile with the windows all closed (but not latched). When we got back, Indy was gone! But Bunny was sleeping on the towel next to the bl...

Dear Kah,

As the flood waters retreat our rescuers are able to reach more and more dogs who urgently need your help!
The dedication of the rescue teams is truly impressive and I have the deepest respect for these unpaid volunteers who often work 18 hours a day to help the animals in distress. One group,...

Indy Has An Infection 13th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
The urine tests results are out. There is the presence of protein and a large number of leucocytes in Indy’s urine. These two results indicate that Indy has an infection.
The specific gravity (S.G.) of Indy’s urine is only 1.02 (the normal reading should be 1.036). That has always been Indy’s problem all this while – and this is why we suspect there is something not quite right with his kidneys.
The urine was really concentrated and dark-coloured, yet the S.G. is lower th...

2 Male Cats Trapped, Only 1 Neutered (Cathy Thong’s) 13th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Cathy Thong texted me yesterday, asking if we could sponsor the neutering of a few new cats on our block (we stay on the same street).
Of course we can sponsor, so Cathy set out her trap (she has purchased one of her own) and waited patiently.
Two cats were trapped!
They were brought to our vet this morning (after Indy’s appointment).
Cathy writes:
One turned out to be a castrated male so we’ve released him after lots of apologies (the one sitting on the shredded newspapers). The o...

Indy Has High Fever 13th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
It’s been a crazy day for me. A classic case of “it doesn’t rain, it pours”. I had to go to work today as there was a deadine to meet and an important meeting.
Before that, I managed to get an appointment for Indy at our vet’s.
Indy in the car. I dread taking Indy anywhere as car rides stress him tremendously.
But this trip is a necessity, Indy. Please bear with it.
Indy is a scaredy cat. That’s him at the vet’s now.
He didn’t want to get out of...

Now, Indy Is Sick 13th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Looks like it’s ’tis the season for faling sick in my household.
I had noticed Indy being in his blue basket upstairs all day yesterday, but since I had been out and running around all day, I I thought I just happened to have found him in his basket or he was afraid because of the Cow-Bunny fight, so he decided he’d just stay put upstairs. But things didn’t look right when he did not come downstairs to eat in the evening, so I brought food up and he ate it all.
I still ...

The Cow-Bunny Saga Continues At The Vet’s… 12th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
So, I managed to get an appointment first thing this morning.
I cleaned the two carriers, sprayed them with Feliway (the happy hormone for cats), and…
Plonk, plonk, I got the two of them inside the carriers. Poor fellows were sleeping, actually, but it’s for the greater good, guys, so sorry…
Bunny sat at the back.
Cow in infront.
Amidst the orchestra in the car, we made it to the vet’s and good…we’re the first patients.
Cow will be examined first.
We let...
