From Chew:
Tomorrow Bro Wuan is procuring the wire netting from a supplier in Shah Alam and with the help of his old classmate Chin(a renovation contractor with a van) bringing 3 rolls of wire netting plus angle iron supports to Pak Din.
Hopefully we can get the netting up by next week. Keep you posted.

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/09/updates-f rom-kota-samarahan-azuras/
We are truly saddened to hear of Brown’s sudden demise.
From Azura, just a few minutes ago:
Dear Dr Chan & KTAJ,
I was saddened by the news from one neighbor while looking for dear Brown this afternoon on a second day of rescue mission. BROWN HAS GONE. I was told that He’s passed this early morning without saying good bye and giving me a chance to treat him. I know it’ s written up there and his t...

Another First-Time Rescuer! 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Two days ago, a old friend (we’re talking about an old schoolmate whom I last saw when I was in Sixth Form, now how long ago is that?!!) wrote to me, out of the blue. Apparently, she had found an abandoned kitten whose eyes were still closed, and she has never handled any kitten before.
A mother cat has abandoned her very young kitten (eyes still closed, ears flat) and I don’t know how to care for it. Don’t know what to do actually.
My son and I put it in a basket lined with ...

Updates On The 3 Musketeers 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Our reader sent these updates on the 3 musketeers this morning:
All 3 musketeers are looking very chirpy this morning compared to yesterday. The tiny one had a roundworm in her poo yesterday. Towards the afternoon, I dabbed a cotton with frontline and rubbed on their body. It was shocking how many big fleas came out dead. The diarrhea had stopped, Orange musketeer still has the wheezing but its reduced a little. Tiny one got his/her appetite back. can walk around the room and even played a littl...

Mr Low Says “thank You”, From North Port 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/06/from-our- food-fund/
Mr Low has collected the dogfood we bought and he says a big thank you to AnimalCare’s donors.
Here’s a photo of the 20-odd dogs that he feeds in North Port. These dogs are dumped on this piece of land and if Mr Low doesn’t feed them, the puppies would probably die of starvation as there is no vegetation on the land. The adults might migrate elsewhere and contribute further to the stray problem.
Winnie, Mr Low’...

I Say, The Berlin Wall Is Down! 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Breakfast was later than usual this morning because I hardly had any sleep last night!
The Indy-and-Pole team made two attempts are breaking through the cat-netting from the kitchen window. The first, you’ve already read. The second happened minutes after the first was thought to have been taken care of!
This time Indy came upstairs again and do his usual “calls”, and when I got down, I saw the cat-netting opened even wider, and guess what, Pole had gone BACK to Bunny’s P...

More Sillylupie P-Lows For My Brood! 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
After seeing how much Indy loves the Ultraman p-low that Joy E. Saga (thanks, Joy!) got for him when Indy ran away from home during the Bluey days, and how much they like to share the p-low, I ordered another two from http://sillylupie-shop.blogspot.com/.
Take a look at the excitement it generated yesterday evening when I collected the p-lows:
Cow? Is that Cow?
The floral one is for the girls.
Yes, it IS Cow playing with the chequered one. And the rest are watching Tabs.
Bunny seems...

In The Still Of The Night… 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
…I was already asleep but I thought I heard a mewing sound close by. Too close for comfort…the cats are downstairs, how can the sound be so close?
I opened my eyes and there was Indy!
At our bedroom door!!
He was calling for me.
Now, how on earth did Indy escape and come upstairs?
Did I forget to close the wooden door?
An investigation ensued….
Nope, I closed the door alright.
Aha…just as I suspected…someone had discovered that they can slide open the cat-ne...

Cleo And Shadow 9th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
There are three elders from one of the back neighbours – we call them Mr Gorilla, Mr Ginrella and Shadow (the black one). All three are HUGE with the typical un-neutered male look.
Yesterday, Cleo did a stand-off with….
….Shadow!
Er…don 217;t be alarmed. Shadow isn’t THAT big. He’s standing in front of some banana leaves! Kind of reminds you of a frilled lizard, doesn’t it? Or a mythical dragon with wings?
You’re still looking at the ba...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/07/urgent-he lp-needed-for-injured-dog-in-kota-samarahan-sarawa k/
From Azura:
Dear Dr Chan,
This late evening, me and Dr Andy Toda from Toda’s Ark Vet Clinic were trying to catch Brown but unfortunately the catching effort was unsuccessful. Though we were very gentle and calm, Brown seems sensing that we were trying to catch him. Luring him with food was also futile. He seems losing his appetite. Dr Andy saying that his body has slowly become weak b...

Blackey’s Updates – 1st Visit (Sha’s) 8th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
From Sha:
Dear Dr Chan,
In less a week (sent her on 1st Feb, 1st visit 6th Feb), the largest lesion on the nose has shrunk by about 5%. The vet has prescribed Itraconazole (Brand: Itrafungol Oral Solution). This medication will continue for the next few months to treat her. However other new lesions seem to have appeared and her left face (nose and eye area) is still swollen. It’s too early to see the changes so soon, so I ‘ll wait for another week or so. According to the vet staff, s...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/03/another-s ick-cat-at-the-university-majids/
Majid has not updated me ever since he asked for help and I directed him to Dr Veeranoot. Dr Veeranoot also went round to that particular cafeteria to look for the cat.
Majid finally updated the good doctor and apparently, according to Majid, the cat does not look as sickly anymore now.
From Majid to Dr V:
Yesterday we (my wife, Leili, and I) gave some food and medication to him
and was is better condition. Toda...

Escape Is The Fashion Of The Day 8th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
It is nothing new in my cat colony, since Pole has been escaping ever since we moved here. She is a free spirit, has been so ever since she got chased out by her brothers Cow & Bunny 4 1/2 years ago.
Yesterday, Indy made two desperate and determined attempts to scale the cat-grilled. Both were successful and once Indy was out, either he was just innocently touring the rest of the house OR there was some unseen (undetected by human senses) territorial competition between Indy and Pole (again,...
