An Sms From The Blueys!! 17th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
We’re all so excited today because of two reasons (in no particular order):
1. Tomorrow Bobby will be going to Canine Caviar to get his prize in the Canine Caviar contest in which he won 6th place.
2. We’ll all get to see the Blueys again!!
This morning, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an sms from the Blueys!!
It read:
Just a gentle reminder that tomorrow morning you promised to come to visit us at Selayang. If convenient, please bring some braised chicken for us? See you then&...

Daiso – 0, Pole – 1 17th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
I thought my worries were over when Pole gave up trying to escape through the gutter ledge after we fixed the Daiso cat-mat.
Er…no.
Today, she had a taste of the roof from our bedroom window and that must have totally exhilarated her and revived her interest and motivation to escape onto the roof again.
Just now, I found Pole on the gutter ledge again…
Oh, oh…
I watched her gingerly tiptoe onto the Daiso spiky cat-mat….effortlessly too, between the spikes.
Verdic...

The Escapades Continue…(another Pole And Indy Story) 16th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
As Dr Susanna has advised me, if no matter what you do, your cat wants to go out, it means she or he HAS to go out or she or he might turn neurotic if forcibly kept confined, even though you have provided a lot of space (which I have!).
She told me about these two cats who were totally neurotic because they wanted to go out and their owner refused to let them out.
So, Dr S advised me that if Pole keeps wanting to go out, let her go. She’ll definitely come back and if she doesn’t, it ...

Lydia collected our Sunsuper-food contribution for Kim’s Shelter today. Kim is a single lady who runs a shelter looking after 30 odd dogs including a paralysed one. We helped her with the cost of spaying-neutering 8 of her dogs recently and one of our readers, KT Tan contributed food and utensils to her shelter too.

Here it is: http://kucing2terbiar.blogspot.com/2012/02/ku cing-terbiar-332-sunsuper-dreams.html

Cat-Proofing Your Cat-Space 16th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Ever since I moved in, those of you who have been following stories of my attempts at cat-proofing my cat-space would know Pole emerged victorious on many, many occasions.
But finally….we didn’t do too badly either. We managed, after being no less than RM1000 poorer, to Pole-proof the cat-space. However, she can still jump over our 4-foot cat-grille (in typical gazelle fashion), but that’s quite okay because the cat-grille is meant to keep the sprayers (Cow & Bunny) out f...

Donations From Across The Ocean 16th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
The Wai Family, whom I am acquainted with on a personal basis, has sent a donation to five organisations through our Paypal account: AnimalCare, MDDB, Pak Din, Meiji’s Sanctuary and Imm’s Shelter in Ipoh, and has requested that I do the bank transfer for them to the other four organisations since it would be more cost-effective to send in one lump sum rather than to 5 separate accounts (Paypal’s commission is high!).
This donation is made in memory of their beloved dog, Rusky a...

Subsidy For A Dog With Cancer And Another Who Swallowed One Too Many Durians! (Meiji’s) 15th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
As you know, within Meiji’s sanctuary are many, many fruit trees (durian trees as well) and most of her dogs eat durians. Some can even open a whole durian.
Recently, someone dumped a puppy near Meiji’s place and of course, Meiji took the puppy back. This puppy also started eating durians like everyone else, but with a passion and fetish like no other! Meiji monitored and the puppy could pass out the seeds.
Recently, a seed must have got stuck and the puppy came down with a fever. Em...

Kumquat The Kitty (from A First-Time Rescuer, Sharon Anne) 15th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/09/another-f irst-time-rescuer/
One of my greatest rewards comes from helping and nurturing first-time rescuers. There is so much potential and possibilities when you “teach a man to fish instead of giving him a fish”.
Here’s updates from Sharon Anne, my old school chum who picked up an abandoned kitten last week. Sharon had never handled a kitten before, but as I’ve always said, the first time can be good. Why, it can even be great!
