Maslinda brought Super and Maxie to the vet’s today as both were having fever. The Other Side Of Midnight
20th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Of dogs that howl and bark in the middle of the night… I’d say this is a valid case of empathy and I do empathise and I’d ask concerned readers to think of a solution for Amanda. Amanda writes: I just read your latest post about developing tolerance, and for the first time in my life, I find myself on the ‘wrong side of the fence’. There is a small pack of strays roaming the street in front of my block in Brickfields, and I have to say this:  I’m very unhapp...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/04/19/two-more- cases-today-and-how-many-more-every-day/ Case 1 was the one where the Spitz had been thrown out by the neighbour and this lady was trying to get help for the poor dog. However, she says there is another family down the road who is interested to adopt this dog and has been feeding it for a week now. But the dog is still not frie...

Boo Boo, Michael Hor’s Kitten, Passed On Peacefully This Morning
19th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Michael Hor just texted me moments ago with the bad news that Boo Boo (name given by his daughter) passed away peacefully this morning. Dr Chan, regrettably Boo Boo (my daughter named her) did not make it this morning. Boo Boo passed away quite peacefully, though. We buried her nearby our house. It was a sad rainy morning. May she reach the rainbow bridge. Sad to hear, but that’s the reality of infant street animals. Spay and neuter, folks. We have to do this for them.

Evelyn Wong alerted me and I said to bring Moon Moon to the vet for treatment. She was worried about the bill; I said we would subsidise. Koo responded immediately when we blogged for help, and Koo helped Evelyn catch and transport Moon Moon to the vet that evening itself. However, the injuries were very grave. Moon Moon&...

Two More Cases Today, And How Many More Every Day?
19th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

My phone has not stopped ringing the whole afternoon. Besides coordinating Meiji’s dogfood delivery, handling a few tshirt purchases and Misai Kucing orders (yes, we are taking orders for the Misai Kucing drink as well – proceeds go to our Fund), there were two more cases which we could not help, and that’s when I’d direct them to those who can. This is a daily thing for me – making connections, when we are not able to help. Case 1 A lady from Cheras called regardin...

A Daily House Guest?
18th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Two nights ago…  We had a guest in the kitchen. He had made his way in all by himself, so the least we could do was to offer a snack in our typical Malaysian courtesy to house guests.  But of course what he actually wanted was to say “hi” to his friends.  Hello, friends.  A closer encounter?  Closer still.  I didn’t come for food, you know. He stayed for awhile and then went home Tonight, just minutes ago….  He called at the grille…we don’t...

The “couple” will be monitored for another day, and if no complications arise, arrangements will be made to send them back to the petstore owner who will look after them, probably on Friday. All’s well that ends well now. No unwanted puppies from this couple. Have also spoken to Ms Phong who will advise the pe...

What Do Cats Do On A Hot Day?
18th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

It’s been super mighty hot these days, hasn’t it? We are not regular air-cont users and we try not to use that cooling machine as far as possible, but we had it installed as a contingency plan to battle the REALLY hot days, which is a few times a year. Today is such a day, and I turned it on because the heat is unbearable. But we keep the windows and door open for fresh air to circulate. So, where is everyone on such a super hot day?  Bobby and Tiger are under the air-cont.  Cleo...
