Tinsel Will Be Adopted…and This Time, For Good, FINALLY!!
23rd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/04/02/tinsel-ca t-for-adoption-terry-saws/ Tinsel has a rather sad history. As a tiny kitten, he was rescued by Terry’s friend, from behind the tyre of a car that was just about to roll over him. Terry fostered him, and when he was old enough, we found an adopter for him. Unfortunately, his wife was allergic to cat fur and Tinsel was returned. Next, Tinsel was adopted by a couple. After almost three years, the couple migrated, took their other cat but did...

Equation Tshirt – Would You Like One?
23rd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Our Equation tshirt arrived last week and as of now, we’ve sold out on S36 (teenage Sports size). We cater for 14 sizes, but will later be downsizing it to only 9 sizes because managing 14 sizes in five designs is just too much work for me! Storage space is another problem too. With 8 sizes, I will rename it using the usual XS, S, M, L and XL. But this will only happen much later after all the existing stocks are sold out. Actually, the sizes differ by only a little. For example, I can ...

A Beautiful Evening Of Classical Ensemble, And The Animals Are Not Forgotten.
23rd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/04/22/are-you-a -classical-music-buff/ I attended Pastorale’s Charity Concert this evening. The principal, Ms Yim Soi Chee, had invited me and AnimalCare is also one of the recipients of their concert proceeds today.  The programme book is by donation. It was held in the KL Chinese Assembly Hall. This is a very old hall – simple, modest, nothing pretentious. The crowd was mostly Chinese-speaking, consisting of families – parents, children, g...

What Went Wrong With The 7 Puppies And Their Mother?
22nd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

This is a most unfortunate case, relayed to me yesterday. A lady who runs a shelter had applied to claim for the vaccination of 7 puppies (rescued with their mum) and we had approved it. However, right after vaccination, 5 of the puppies came down with diarrhoea and vomiting (the typical symptoms of parvo virus). If you remember Winnie Low’s case, Brownie and Angel (son and mother, also rescued) were vaccinated too, and the next day, Brownie collapsed. He was diagnosed with parvo virus and...

Medical Subsidy For Distemper-Suspect Puppy (Sharon Elizabeth Tan Tai Ching’s)
22nd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

It’s a rather complicated story, so here goes, from Sharon: Actually what happened as I told you, Joseph suspected he got conned by a vet as the pup wasnt healing. When I asked him to send again after 5 days he was hesistant think to get conned so I arranged for house call for him. I told him pay first and I will bank in to him as soon as vet leaves which I did. So however, after that, I did a house call and the pup is as happy as can be. And he has called me a few times to let me know...

The Canine Caviar Event!
22nd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

This is what I do the day before any event:  Packing tshirts, books and other freebies for the event.  Sorting out what sizes to bring, depending on the crowd.  Of course I’d always have reliable volunteers and advisers to help…so ever willingly.  All wheeled out and ready to go this morning.  We arrived early, as we always do, unless we are waylaid by landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis or unexpected roadblocks. Bernice and Donovan led the way from Ara Damansara as I had no ...

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie? (the Barking Dogs In Brickfields)
21st Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/04/20/the-other -side-of-midnight/ Yesterday, Amanda told me more about the barking dogs at her place: Honestly, I think these dogs are like your Mac and a dog we had when I was growing up. They just bark for hours on end at NOTHING. Simply because they feel like barking. They trot up and down the street making sure to wake everyone in the block. They play, they look through the rubbish, they chase cats when they see one, and barking the whole time. On a typic...

A Happy Ending (or Continuation?) At Kuchai Avenue! (from Ms Phong)
21st Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

I could almost hear the Black Eyed Peas singing “Today’s gonna be a good day…”, because it is!
