Methycobal For Indy

The vet told me yesterday that between Neurobion and Methycobal, the latter is more potent since it has B12. So, this evening, I went to check at the local pharmacy and the pharmacist also recommended Methycobal for nerve ailment.
Methycobal is very much smaller in size compared with Neurobion, hence, much easier to feed. The pharmacist gave me a discount and it is only RM7.50 for 10 tablets. He said normally, for nerve repair, it is recommended to take for 2 months in humans, but for animals, ...

Caty was brought in for surgery this morning.
Updates from Koo moments ago:
Caty survived the surgery but will be kept overnight for observation. She has woken up now. The eye removal went well and she would have to wear the e-collar for 10 days. She was also found to be NOT pregnant but the spaying was problematic and she is now on drips. I hope she will improve by tomorrow.

Indy Is Still A Bit Feverish

I camped with Indy last night, waking up many times to check on him. He slept through the night and seemed reasonably alright.
He only licked a bit of food this morning, so I handfed him and he ended up eating a sizeable amount. It’s Natural Balance wetfood. He didn’t want homecooked today; maybe it’s not as tasty. Let them decide, Dr Susanna always says. They know what they need.

A vet, Dr Dev from Kinrara Vets, called me yesterday regarding one of his cases. This gentleman is looking after a stray cat and the cat is in need of surgery to save its life. The gentleman is disabled and cannot afford to pay, so the vet was wondering if we would be able to help.

Indy’s Urine Test Results

The clinic’s number appeared on my phone, and it was the vet with Indy’s urine test results.
Everything appears to be normal except that there is an elevated number of Leucocytes (white blood cells) in the urine. This indicates that there is probably an infection. However, the reading isn’t alarmingly high. The normal reading is 10, but Indy’s is 18.

Indy Is Back From The Vet’s

So I called in for an appointment and the vet is fully booked today, but I can walk in and wait for a gap between appointments.

This Is Almost Unbelievable

A most unusual and shocking case was revealed to me last night.
A caregiver who constantly applies to our fund for subsidy had brought another stray cat to the vet for neutering. The caregiver thought the cat was female and told the vet so.
This is not the regular vet but a trainee vet.
The trainee vet proceeded with the surgery which was the normal OHE for female cats and could not find the uterus or ovaries.

I was informed last night that one puppy had passed on while being on drips at the clinic.
Apparently, it is not parvovirus but distemper that had afflicted the entire family.
The incubation period for distemper is known to be between 3-21 days but most websites put it as 7-21 days.

Yesterday, Indy was sleeping for a long time in the basket on my table, and it seemed a bit too long. When he woke up, he limped a little. I thought it was just a sprain, but after observing him a bit, it looks like the old problem has surfaced again. That December nightmare.
