Pole Wins Paws Down!
19th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Today is Day 4 of Operation Pilling Pole and I am waving the white flag now. Yes, I lost and Pole wins without a doubt. I only succeeded in making her eat the medicine-laced wetfood for one round. After that, she did not fall for the trick anymore. Not at all. She refused to eat. So the ground medicine (of powder that is SO fine and SO little) would be mixed with the wetfood from morning till night. Well, yes, bit by bit, I managed to feed it all.  Or almost all, but it took great perseverance ...

Is Tux Your Lost Cat? (Ng Chen Chen’s)
17th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

If Tux is your lost cat, please contact Chen to take him back. Dear Dr. Chan and SCRATCH, Since the end of June 2012, a new cat came into our neighbourhood in SS26 Petaling Jaya. We have called him Tux because he wears a permanent grey tuxedo. He is very sociable to both ca...

See? I Can Pee! (from Pole)
15th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

All afternoon, Pole kept calling from the grille. Each time I go in, she would lead me to the pantry either to ask for food or to ask for something. Finally, by evening, she called again and this time she wanted to show me something. She led me to the litter-box and squatted in the ready-to-pee position. I held my breath and didn’t dare more a muscle.  Then, she covered up the “evidence” as all self-respecting cats would.  I waited for her to move away before I eagerly look...

Oh Well, Pole, What Have We Got To Lose?
15th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

At about 11.30am, Pole came to the grille and mewed. I went in and she led me to the pantry with those eyes that say, “I’m hungry”. A thought came to me. After all, after this morning’s nightmarish incident I had half a mind to skip this evening’s dose of the anti-inflammatory, but since she is hungry, why don’t I just try the oldest trick in the book of crushing the small white tablet and mixing it with her wetfood? So I did just that. Crushed the dratted tab...

Pole, The Pilling Nightmare
15th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Pole and Cleo had always been pilling nightmares since they were young. Why, I cannot even pop in a dewormer and have to take them to the vet’s for that purpose. You can’t crush the pill and put in the food, because they (in fact, all of our cats) will smell it out and eat everything except the parts that contain the bits of the crushed pill. As I’ve said, if you think Cow is bad, you haven’t seen anything yet. So, since yesterday, I had been sending good vibes to Pole, h...
