27th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Kwanjit was pregnant was first rescued by Dr Veeranoot in Feb 2011, from Section 17, PJ. But soon, Dr Veeranoot had to move to an apartment and the neighbours were not pleased with her having cats. We have helped publicised Kwanjit’s kittens for adoption many times, but as luck would have it, they could not find homes. Dr Veeranoot even surrendered them to a certain shelt...

Man Frees 17-Lb Lobster And Releases It
25th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Nandhini shared this: http://www.sacbee.com/2012/07/25/4658321/ma n-frees-17-pound-lobster-from.html In the Chinese culture, there is an age-old practice of “life liberation” where animals bound for slaughter are purchased and released so that they would be “free”. My concern is, they should be released into an environment which is safe in which they can live out their natural lives, not into an environment which is not suitable at all for them or worse, where they would...

Animals Suffer….everywhere
25th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Some people are quick to condemn what’s on their own homeground without doing anything constructive about it.  They often think that things are bad at home and the grass is greener on the other side. Well, take a look at this: http://www.care2.com/causes/serial-killers- in-houston-are-hunting-abandoned-pets.html It reminds us that animals, being the weaker beings in our concrete jungle, are subject to all kinds of suffering due to various reasons. Human cruelty and sadism are amongst th...

How To Make Use Of The Spaces In Bunny’s Place
24th Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Cow’s spraying is gradually mutilating one leg of our poor tree trunk bench, so before it’s completely mutilated, we’ve decided to shift it to the patio. Thankfully, Indy has shifted from the bench to the pink box, so we won’t be depriving him from his favourite spot now. Having moved the tree trunk bench out, we have more space in the room and cleaning is made easier too.  Ah…more breathing space. The top shelf is Pole’s. She shares it with Cleo at times. T...

Free Roaming Or Confined?
23rd Jul 2012, by AnimalCare

Mrs Wong shared this: http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/l eisure/2012/07/23/should-she-stay-or-should-she-go / The article talks about whether cats should be allowed to roam freely as Nature has intended them to, or they should be confined for their own safety. There will always be two schools of thought on this issue. For the last five years, my cats were free roaming simply because I had not planned on keeping cats in the first place and I was not able to confine them in a conducive s...
