Baggy Finishes A Whole Can Of Fancy Feast! 19th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
This morning, Baggy had home-cooked food sprinkled with the TF. She seems to love the TF powder, which is really good.
Scratching after breakfast.
She now hates the RetroMAD1 and salivates immediately after taking it. She has done this for 2 days now. I’m glad today she finishes her 21 days of Doxycycline. No more of that antibiotic anymore.
Lunch was Fancy Feast which she loved. All afternoon, she sat under the table.
For dinner, I gave her another flavour of Fancy Feast and she sim...

Baggy Plays With The Feather! 18th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
After breakfast today, Baggy played with the feather!
She even chased the feather and grabbed at it.
Then, we went to the vet’s for her 5th EPO jab. Baggy’s weight is stable at 2.75kg.
Here’s Baggy wearing the ionising necklace that Andy and Emily brought for her. She seems to like it.

A Fancy Feast For Baggy! 17th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
I bought two flavours of Fancy Feast (there were so many to choose from), and scooped out a teaspoon into her bowl.
It smelled really good…
Baggy was about to move away when she saw food (as though saying, “Making me eat AGAIN??”), but she stopped short and came around to sniff at the food….
I held my breath….
YES!! She is eating!!
Her appetite was so good, she was eating very quickly and I replenished it each time she finished a teaspoon.
I’m waiting fo...

Andy And Emily Visits Baggy 17th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
Baggy didn’t have very good appetite today. She only ate her breakfast after I sprinkled the TF on it, but it was good enough that she ate it.
She wasn’t interested in lunch either, but appeared to show some excitement when I brought in the food. Sniff, sniff…not interested. Had to force-feed.
Since yesterday, she had lost interest in the steamed liver, so I figured she needed the nasty-tasting Hi-Vite supplement again since the EPO jab must be accompanied by iron supplementati...

Cleo’s Diary 17th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
Today after breakfast, we all had our playtime, as usual, then some of us lounged at the Clubhouse while I rested on my favourite shelf….
I was minding my own business when…
…something started poking me from below.
I don’t know what it was, but it kept poking and poking.
I couldn’t see who or what was poking me from below.
So I had to look through the gap…
And I saw who it was!!
The culprit scuttled away and…
…feigned innocence.

Baggy’s Visit To The Vet’s 16th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
Today is Baggy’s 4th EPO jab. Non-FeLV cats are known to respond after 3 jabs, but for Baggy’s case, we may have to do more because of her FeLV+ condition, so I’ll have to get another vial of the EPO for Saturday. The vet explained that the EPO is not harmful as it consists of hormones and enzymes.
Baggy’s weight is stable at 2.75kg today and her heart sounds better today compared to previously. That’s the good news.
I’ve learnt to “listen” to Bagg...

Healing Energy For Baggy 16th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
A friend dropped in to do energy healing for Baggy this afternoon. Baggy kept moving away, so maybe she isn’t ready to receive the energy yet, but according to my friend, she should have received some of it.
Baggy also started sneezing a little bit this afternoon. I can only think of three reasons for this:
1. The FeLV virus has weakened her, so she caught a cold.
2. The steroids have suppressed her immune system, so she caught a cold.
3. The sneezing is a healing crisis from all the natur...

Wheatgrass For Baggy 15th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
Since conventional medicine cannot help Baggy in this stage of her condition, I’ve been reading up a lot on natural ways to help the body heal. Most animal caregivers (including professional with years of experience) who adopt the natural way of healing attest to the fact that good nutrition is the most important thing.
Anitra Frazier writes: The first requirement is that the patient enjoys the food and continues to eat.
After yesterday’s trip to the vet’s, I’ve decided...

Freshly Steamed Liver For Baggy’s Supper And Breakfast 15th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
Yesterday wasn’t exactly a good day for Baggy. I could see she was feeling rather down after the trip to the vet’s and she spent the day indoors with Uncle Bobby after coming home.
I don’t quite blame her because I too was feeling rather low.
We’re totally relying on instinct now to handle Baggy’s case because there isn’t much that conventional medicine can offer.
Late last night, I thought she looked hungry, so I tried my luck at steaming some fresh liver ...

“Here For A Reason”, Presented By Baggy! 14th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
My 8th book, Here for a Reason, is finally going to the printing press after months of awaiting its turn at being typeset at the publisher. So sorry for the delay, but we had to wait for our turn.
So, here’s Baggy presenting the e-book version to all of you first!
I have uploaded the e-book here. Please share the e-book widely with your family and friends. The book is bilingual (in English with Chinese translation).

Cheering Baggy On… 14th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
In life, there are ups and downs, and today happened to be not such a good day for Baggy.
Baggy refused her lunch today, and had to be hand-fed. She looked quite lethargic after the visit to the vet’s.
With Uncle Bobby.
Later, Maslinda dropped in to visit Baggy, followed by Mr Teh. While Baggy was adopted by Andy Lew for those few months, she was particularly close to Mr Teh.
Mr Teh and Baggy.
The dinner-callers were hungry at 5pm and it was a bit early, but they were hungry,...

Baggy’s 3rd EPO Jab 14th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare
Baggy went for her 3rd EPO jab today. I weighed her at the clinic and am glad that there was a weight gain of 100g.
However, Baggy is still very pale. The vet wanted to do the blood PCV (pin prick on ear) to see if there was any improvement in the test results so that we would know whether to taper off the steroids or continue it. There was no improvement in the PCV – It is still at 8%. Hence, the prognosis is the same. The steroids have to continue.
On our end, we’ll just continue ...
