Cutie Pet Fair Day 1 29th Sep 2012, by AnimalCare
We reached at about 8.45am this morning and there was hardly any parking left. Looks like everyone (especially the traders) were early birds.
This year, the NGOs are not put together but scattered all over the park, so we were located in a new place.
Winnie, Chun Eng and me.
The crowd was quite thin throughout the day. It is probably due to it being the Mooncake festival weekend.
A loyal tshirt fan!
Our booth was “facing east” (which is probably good feng shui!) but t...

We LOVE Monge….!! 29th Sep 2012, by AnimalCare
Today, at the Cutie Pet Fair, Canine Caviar introduced their new range of canned food for cats. The brand is Monge and it retails at RM3.80 per 80 g can. For this weekend’s fair, it’s buy 5, get 1 free.
Of course I had to try it for my cats and Andy Lew was very kind to give me some samples.
I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…
Everyone was VERY excited when they saw the new food.
Oh yippee! Mum bought us new food!
The gang could barely wait. Everyone marched o...

You’ll Never Know What Makes People Tick… 28th Sep 2012, by AnimalCare
Why do I continue writing, whether books or this blog?
Because you’ll never know who reads and sometimes, miracles can happen because what you have written makes sense to someone…and makes a difference in his or her life.
This evening, I gave a public talk. It wasn’t about animals, but at the end of the talk, a lady came up to me and said she had read one of my books, Do We Have a Choice?. She said that of all my books that she had read, this book had the biggest impact on her....

We Love QIUT…for A Change 28th Sep 2012, by AnimalCare
No child will eat the same thing over and over, and over and over, and most children need a change of taste once in a while.
The same goes for cats, especially fussy ones like these…
But what’s the problem? They appear to be eating quite happily…
Yes, and that’s only because they are eating something different.
And what might that be?
A change of diet and taste…
Indy was the first to announce that he didn’t want to eat home-cooked food anymore and ...

A Quick Guide To Eating A Plant-Based Diet 28th Sep 2012, by AnimalCare
Or, a quick guide to eating less animals: http://zenhabits.net/plants/
An excerpt:
How to Change
It will be no surprise that I recommend people start small and change slowly. A good plan is to make the change in stages:
Slowly cut out meat. This stage is actually several smaller stages. You might try starting with Meatless Mondays and then, over time, expanding to other days of the week. Another common idea is to start by cutting out red meat, and then poultry, then seafood, in gradual stag...

I rescued a very skinny and matted up terrier last Saturday night at Sec 17. He was wearing a choke chain and has puncture wound on his ears. His fur was like dreadlocks so much so that he can be a Rastafarian mascot. Groomed him and took him to the vet. Had him castrated and he has to be on antibiotics for his wound. Sammy is estimated to be around 6 years ol...
